I totally respect this opinion, I really do. But, you need to appreciate that some of us are car people. A car is like art ...well, art that depreciates every inch that it moves ...but it's still art.

I've been lucky enough to drive one. The Tesla S is un(frank)ingreal. 0-60 faster than a 911 Carrerra S and nearly silent. The space aged interior with the 17 inch screen ain't too shabby either. Showing people the trunk in the back AND the one under the hood really seems to blow minds too.

I don't think that's Pecafan fan's car.

If you look really closely, you'll see that the ashtray isn't overflowing, and there is no Roch Voisine CD case sitting on the passenger seat.

I have been living at home for 2.5 years while working since I've graduated from undergrad & put a down payment towards getting my own condo. Condos are the only way for most first time home buyers!

If the housing market goes up, I can always sell it and upgrade to a house a few years down the line after saving more money. If it goes down, well, I can still sell it and upgrade (the bigger places will also go down in value).

The advice I got was just get something decent first & get into the real estate market.

If you move out right after school & start paying rent I have no idea how you can ever save for a down payment
