how tall is the tower? I have xplornet 4G satellite, it can work decently at times but usually is horrible.. plus since it's satellite any gaming or VPN to work is out of the question...just can't overcome that latency of sending a signal to space and back.

two somewhat promising notions

1. xplornet/hughesnet is launching a new satellite in 2016 that might offer 25Mb/s speeds...

2. http://www.wowc.ca/projects
someone is planning on installing fibre in rural ontario and hopes to be complete by 2020.

not holding my breath for option 2.

Eidt the fibre project plan says 100% coverage by 2040...only 25 years until I can start streaming again!!!

I think the tower is about 50 feet, I have antenna tower off my house and they put about and 15 foot extension on top to clear the trees.
My options were Satellite or the tower, after i looked into it, the satellite was not an option.

I know your pain though, i suffered for 3 years with almost unusable service, at peak times I could do light browsing at the most.

I am only on a 5mb package and it cost like $60 month..but seems so fast now

I stream and download stuff fine now.. My wife is much happier I am not female doging every day about it

one this weekend for my Nephew, wife's side... is the first of our 14 nieces and nephews. Between showers, stags, and stag-and does, and new dress for my wife, which requires the new shoes and purse... it has already cost a fortune, and now comes the gift... which will be significant.

I will need a freaking budget line for weddings over the next 10 years or so

- Aetherial

I refuse to go to cash grabs.

I'll go to the stag, because if it is done well, it's worth the price of admission.

I'll go to the wedding.

But you aren't pulling money out of me to go to some stupid stag and doe. Sorry, your wedding is not a business.

I dont think it'll continue. The economy is down and is officially in a Canada wide decline. Some people with high debt loads are going to be hurting soon...

CMHC will only insure mortgages <= 1M, so anyone buying an average house needs to pony up the 20% down payment on their own.

The demographics underlying the Toronto housing market are still strong, though.

You have a region that is continuing to grow, and commute times are getting worse.

It's location, location, location.

True story. Extended families sharing big houses has driving up suburban home prices to ridiculous levels for single families too.

The economy has been down for 7 years , Try again !

Last time the economy was in the toilet was in the late 80's and early 90's .
The real estate market went with it because they raised rates to 13% and 14% and people couldn't afford the interest let alone the underlying principal .

Today they realize that inflation is the lesser of two evils and are keeping rates low.

If you don't mind , I won't be taking the real estate or financial advice of a (frank)ing troll on a hockey rumor site !

It's a poop hole.

Google image that.

Funny thing, i moved to PEI, met my wife, and her Dad's family are all from Grimsby, Ont.

We went there when we visited Toronto. It's like chalk and cheese with the Grimsby i know.

his mom's basement... if you are trying to track him via the internet... check out homes that have placed an inordinately high number of orders for cheap pizza, and homes which have a high-school students living in them... which have been in high school for 5 or more years, large internet usage with xbox profile
