My parents sent me to Italy for a whole summer to stay with my grand parents to teach me what it was like to work and help out. Lesson learned quickly, eye opening experience on how it was for him, they still lived in the same house and small mountain town he grew up in.

What about specialty channels like Food, Discovery, TLC?
What about premium channels like HBO or Showcase?

... Really, sports is the big one, even though I don't watch too much sports. Everything else can be downloaded and I end up doing that a lot of the time anyway when i forget to set the PVR.

It is engraved in my brain. We owned all the land behind the Church that my Dad and his dad built. I remember vividly going on a trail behind the church to a spot sitting on a hill overlooking everything below.

Entire seasons are all right there in front of you - just watch an episode, and tee up the next one.

My wife wasn't feeling well one weekend. She ended up watching that anti-terrorism show with Claire Danes and Mandy Patinkin non-stop.

Good lord, if I ever tried to watch that much sports in a weekend, she would have killed me.

I felt sorry for the kid who installed my box.

You could tell he took great pride in his product.

I told him to show me the sports - he started showing me all the international cricket. I had to point out to him that I was about as WASP as you could get - it didn't really excite me.

And then he started showing me all the Pakistani and Hindu channels. Once again, kid, don't get me wrong, it all looks good...

I'm just hoping for some international rugby matches, and some Euro 2016 qualifiers.

Well if it makes anyone feel better i am a (frank) load in debt, inherited from my wife, and live in PEI where it's bloody freezing. Yay for me.

I used to stream and download all my content when I lived in London. I moved 2 years ago to a 4 acre property outside the city in the middle of a 20 acre forest. I don't have cable or dsl. only options are cell phone plans (limited to 20GB per month). Some type of direct line of sight wireless (require 150' tower to get over the trees) or satellite which is the one I had to go with and it sucks. I can sometimes stream netflix, but everything else is horrible. usenet/p2p/sftp are all throttled to 30kB/s ... worse than dial up...it makes me cry.
