Yep.

And the Leaf players are Mahovlich and Horton

- Elbows15

I was trying to figure out who the other Leaf player was - don't think it is Tim Horton. He was a right hand shot, wore #7.

(Seabrook is my Tim Horton of this era).

Maybe Armstrong? After looking at it closer I think its is too tall to be Horton.

Plus he is left hand shot which I missed.

Would have to see the number. Army wore #10, right hand shot and was the captain.

Pully wore #20 and didn't dare go behind the net in the O zone because Imlach wanted him to be a checker. Always hated the Leafs except for Keon and Horton. They played the 1960's version of the NJ Devils trying to slow down teams with skill and talent.

I'm guessing here but that photo has to be from about 1960. Pilote still has the 'A' on his jersey.

Zach Hyman a Florida Panther draft pick who played for Michigan in the NCAA has informed Florida he will be testing the free agent market. Hopefully this will put to rest the absurd idea that Kevin Hayes refused to play for Chicago because of the coaching staff. These College players have a distinct advantage over Junior players in that if they complete school they come out with the option to sign with the team that drafted them or turn to free agency. My guess is this will happen more and more as players are able to stay away from ceratin markets, are able to target teams where they have a chance to play right away or they can play close to or at home.

Rangers couldnt beat Tampa, but the fans on the rangers blog are convinced the rangers would have gone on and beat Chicago

Not sure how that works.

Just as much offense, cup winning goalie, high end top 4 defense for matchups, stronger depth at forward...

- FourFeathers773

Typical Rangers fans bs. They had a ridiculous few months to get to the Prez trophy then beat a crippled Pens team and the Caps aka the Eastern Conference's version of the Ducks. Team is so overrated its silly.

Part of the problem with the Rangers is like the Ducks and Blues they are hamstrung with poor coaching. AV like BB and KH have all proven they can't win in the playoffs.

They can win in the playoffs, but not as the games increase in importance.

Not a chance! We all know Q drove serviceable players like the Hayes Bros, Pirri and Morin away from the team only to sign/trade for useless vetereans like 91 + 80.

Pilote and Vasko?

Yup and that might be the native Canadian George Armstrong for the Leafs behind the net.

You meant to put that in red [color=red.....] no dots because it was sarcasm right?

Pirri and Hayes maze haven't won any team anything.

Kevin made a decision to go Rangers and play now, but he may have to wait a decade or so to get back unless he does what I am going to predict he does...when he finally becomes a UFA...he will leave instantly.

Depth drove servicable players away.

And I if you aren't being sarcasitc, did you see how well Jimmy and Brandon fit in ? They weren't really winning jobs in any chances they go.

You earn a spot...

Come on Wiz, that post was dripping with sarcasm. There are a few posters on here mocking the Hawks all season for having older players in place of guys like Pirri, completely ignorning the fact that veteran teams normally have the most post season success.

I've noticed with the Hawks' playoff run that there has been a dramatic drop in the use of emoticons.

I agree plus I never bought into this team for a few reasons:

They have talent but there's no consistent game breaker. Who is the guy that steps up when the game or series is on the line? I heard an incredible statistical breakdown by a Rangers analyst on local sports radio which confirmed the eye test - in the regular season Nash scores a ton of garbage goals from strange angles and takes advantage of bad goaltending. When the goaltending and defenses tighten up in the postseason, those chances are gone. Of course the analyst gave a little credence to the fact that his linemate, Zuccarello was out but that doesn't change his past performances either.

I don't love this team's defense. McDonough is a star. Girardi has had his moments but by in large struggles against speedy teams. They regret giving him that huge contract. Staal is good but I think his development into a great D-man was unfortunately impacted by his eye injury. Kline played like a top four D-man until his arm injury then came back and was more of a third pair guy. Boyle is just old and Yandle never really fit well.

Faceoffs - They stink in this area and the stats don't lie.

Coaching - AV has a fun high octane system build for the regular season. He fails to adjust in the postseason as someone said.

Again to me they are a good team but not a great team.

Horton was a defenseman. I think the other forward was the chief, George Armstrong.

Hey - PE - from this morning'so Tribune -

Thank you, Blackhawks. Signed, NBC.

The Blackhawks not only delivered huge ratings Saturday night, they also bring the promise of even bigger numbers for NBC for the Stanley Cup Final.

The Hawks’ victory in Game 7 of the Western Conference finals posted a 3.27 overnight rating of major markets on NBC, the highest ever for a non-Stanley Cup Final game on the network; 1 national ratings point is worth the equivalent of more than 1 million homes.

Once again, the Chicago market was huge for NBC, with a 26.6 rating on NBC-5; 1 local ratings point is worth nearly 35,000 homes. It was the largest ever for Chicago for a non-Stanley Cup Final game and the third highest overall in the market.

By comparison, the game registered only a 3.9 in Los Angeles. That sigh of relief comes from NBC avoiding a Tampa Bay-Anaheim matchup.

NBC didn’t hit the jackpot with a Chicago-New York finals, but it still is more than thrilled to have the Hawks playing into June.

No true #1 center either. Some very good number 2's in Brassard and Stepan, but agree, no real game changers up front.

Yep Rangers are weak down the middle-play off killer. AV certainly not problem. By and large his teams have success until they face a more talented team. His teams routinely play deep.

I have to be honest I thought they'd lose to Washington. I felt this team under Trotz was different and I think they were. The game 5 loss in NY up 3-1 killed the Caps. They just sat back and waited for the Rangers to make a mistake and it bit them. Given the Rangers lack of success vs. Tampa and since Tampa was my preseason pick to go to the Finals, I took them in six over the Rangers.
