Remember when I asked about Kessel for floridas first, bolland and a prospect like Grimaldi back at the trade deadline and was called every name under the sun by Toronto fans???? Good times..

Yup. Saying he has size is pointless.... If size=not playing physical what good is it?

He doesn't hit, but he protects the puck really really well. Tough to defend againts one on one.

When he's engaged, which isn't every shift. Same issue as Kessel.

Go compare where Kessel stood in the league for the FIVE YEARS leading up to this year vs, where Nash stood in the league for the 5 years before his trade.

It is not close and no, Nash is not a defensive stalwart, or a fearless leader or a huge physical presence.

But what does 90% of outside to think?

Toronto had more playoff success with Kessel than Columbus did in a decade with Rick Nash. Think about that.

100% of the league thought Mike Babcock would never step foot in Toronto.

whats with the butthurt?
guy has clearly shown he can put up above average of what is expected as a #2C. He can play the pp and kill penalties. Why should he be lumped in with #3 centers that get 30 points?

- GardinerExpress

Ur butthurt....

U can all believe he's a 2C and that's great, but he's not.... what GM will trade for him and insert him as a 2C? Would u guys like him as a 2C? Bc CLB would easily trade Dubi for Kessel

I agree.... Same reaction.

Nash is so big and strong...... But he doesn't hit or play physical. But he's got size.

Yes he is. Look at his production. Look at his ice-time. He is too good to be classified as a 3C.

All playoff commentators bemoaning him for not driving the net..... Playing on the perimeter.

But love his size.

I wonder why the idiots from other teams' fanbases think their opinion means more than sfa.

fla may not want to trade the #11 at the home draft

maybe trochek (prospect), petrovic (young roster player), 2016 1st and 2015 3rd

- Tumbleweed

See I think something like this is probably close. I will make one adjusent. Toronto takes back a long term awful contract or eats about 1.5 per.
I still wouldn't be surprised to see the main piece be a vet player. If we have learned anything from edm is you still need great veteran players to show the kids the way.
From day one of the whole kessel is getting trades story, i be thought Pavelski for Kessel with a few other pieces included

Guess Vermette is considered a 2C since he produced this year by getting more ice time? with ARZ

That's a terrible deal, and you think the leafs have to also eat 1.5mil or takes back a long term bad contract?

He was 12th in the NHL for points per 60 minutes among centers this year. 39th last year.

He had 35 points in 63 games this year with the Coyotes, while playing 1st line minutes.
