I highly doubt Babcock signed on to be a part of a long drawn out rebuild. - Dangles13
Well he just did. He signed for the money and his choice of city in exchange for the situation in Toronto. |

why does he get more than nash brought back for columbus? - Tumbleweed
That deal looks worse than the clb deal for one, and also why wouldn't he? He produces more than Nash. What mKes Nash more valuable? |

I think the best fit for Kessel, is Columbus. Put him on their first line, with Ryan Johanson and look out! If they want to give us their first, this year, plus Boone Jenner and a third, next year, then I can see an equitable deal for both teams. - PrinceLH
I'm a big Dubinsky fan. Find a way to work him in to a deal for Kessel and I'd be a happy camper. |

I think bc of how todays salaries are rising even on mediocre players compared to the past. So the cap has its limits... |

Remember when I asked about Kessel for floridas first, bolland and a prospect like Grimaldi back at the trade deadline and was called every name under the sun by Toronto fans???? Good times.. |

Only very recently were they put together on the same line. - fidopro

Just like all the fans who said Toronto has no shot at Babcock and their fans were delusional for thinking so....
Leafs will get a good return for Kessel. The guy is an eilite scorer and very good play maker - problem is he always played for terrible teams with terrible centers. Put him on a good team, with good work ethic, strong coach and he will not only regain top 10 scoring title but also give much more without the puck. A GM will know this and same fans that said Babcock to Toronto was impossible will have egg on their face again. |

The funny thing is the biggest reason people think Nash is some superstar and Kessel is terrible is the Toronto media. They've had a boner for "Franchise Superstar" Nash for years. |

I don't think the situation in Toronto is as dire as MSM makes it out to be. With Shanny and Babcock at the helm there should be a clear direction and few harebrained moves. |

I don't remember that, but I can imagine people were unhappy. If for no other reason than it was you who typed it.
Now I'm wondering about Columbus deals. Kessel and Bozak for Dubinsky, Dozzer's cousin, and another piece? I don't know, I'm bad at this game. |

Dubinsky had 36 points in 47 games this season. He's no 3rd line centre. |

Bolland @5.5 for 4 more years? Hell no

Hard to get fair value when salaries equate to the cap. If a team has cap room will not give as much bc of absorbing so much salary instead and vice versa....
I believe if Kessel's cap hit was $6m per, TOR would get a ransom but until the cap rises, most teams are strapped, if u get my point? |

Dubinsky and Anisimov are both good players. I don't recall who they picked with the 1st they got. Erixon was still a good prospect at the time of the deal, he just can't seem to put it together. I think it was a very good deal for a team like Columbus, who may have an issue atrracting free agents, to get effective players they can control. |
