with babcock coming in you will see the leafs take more of a detroit approach to player development

they will keep them in junior or college til they are nearing 20.. then they will have them play in a pro league somewhere (be it the AHL or a Euro league) and when the player has shown that they can handle the rigors of pro hockey, both physically and mentally, will they even be worth babcock's time at the top level.

i think this is the best thing babcock will bring to the leafs.. he has a track record of being patient with prospects.

100% i agree.

not only that, but when those players do come play for them, they are ready, and they are coached properly and he without a doubt gets the most out of each player, and not just 1st and 2nd liners, fourth liners like Glendenning for example...what did he get, 18 goals last season? The grinders will have what i like to call "Gary Roberts Syndrom" or try hard syndrom whatever floats your boat.

Kessel will finally get his 40. JVR, Kadri, and Lupul will get 60 pts each. Nylander and Marner will play 3rd/4th line minutes. Rielly and Dion will have big years and Bernier will finally solidify his role as a # 1..
