It won't be us turning on Babcock if he doesn't make it in 2 years. It will be the media. Of course, there will be people in here complaining on a nightly basis, but I know I won't. If I see them playing with effort every game, that's what matters the most. Last year, they stopped trying and you could tell.
I really hope they continue with the development model they are implementing. Let the kids develop with the Marlies. I feel bad for someone like verhaeghe, who will probably be forced into playing in the echl next year. With nylander being the Marlies #1c (not sure who played center on his line, hopefully him), and the goat slotted in at #2c, it ruins verhaeghe's development to have him playing bottom 6 minutes with the Marlies. He'll probably go to the echl, rip it up, and be called up half way through the year. - matt1337
Maybe, or maybe they'll keep Nylander on the wing (where he has been playing) and have the Goat center him and Brown.
That's what I'd hope for |

Exactly, so the expectations on what the return for Kessel will be are tempered at least for me... - aminnes
7th overall could get you a Barzal, Provrov, Zacha, Rantanen, hell, even one of Strome/Hanifin/Marner might fall that far.
very deep draft, means it's more likely for teams to go off-board with their picks |

I dunno about Stamkos and Seabrook, never know i guess but it seems like a pipe dream... i think theyre gonna load up on 1st and 2nd rounders this year and next draft and let guys who can actually build a winning team do their job - user1
Someone said on here earlier, if Stamkos doesn't resign with TB this off season, he could very well be ours next summer, and I believe that also.
Chicago can't keep everyone, I think Seabrook will be gone next summer as well.
I can see the Leafs doing what the Wild did a couple years ago. We throw money at the two top players in their respective positions. (Stamkos & Seabrook).
Babcock being here, also helps us out a little too, don't ya think?
Yeah, it's a long shot, but I think we learned, anything can happen. |
|
|
|
He wouldn't stand for these guys losing the way they are, that's for sure. That guy was a winner, never settled for mediocrity when it came to himself playing the game.
"Never be happy with the game you had, always try to do better the next one. Never be satisfied" (along those lines) - weirdoh
I wonder if MLB would allow him to coach. |

That would be nice, but unless mckegg makes the leafs, which is doubtful, he will slot in as #2c then. Verhaeghe is a prospect I hope they develop properly. |

Not sure what you mean. Unless a typo. But there were talks about talks starting to get him being reinstated. I think he should be. |

Sure, but you can't expect them to be a playoff team either is all I'm saying - TheThrill
Maybe they won't make it, but they're going to try.
Kessel will finally get his 40. JVR, Kadri, and Lupul will get 60 pts each. Nylander and Marner will play 3rd/4th line minutes. Rielly and Dion will have big years and Bernier will finally solidify his role as a # 1..
That should equal playoffs. A lot has to go right but that's why they brought Babcock in. |

There's two discussions now.
One is how AA has no clue wtf he's doing.
And then there's TheThrill and 1979 who think anyone who criticizes Jesus AA are crazy and they are the same fans who will complain about the Leafs not making the playoffs next year. Basically they're nuts. |

You really think they wait 2years to start ripping on him?
What is the goat slotted in as 2c? I wouldn't be surprised if verheage is with the Marlies all year next year, I'd be surprised if he wasn't. |

Wishful thinking, but would be nice. Stamkos I believe is a possibility. Especially with the Olympics coming up in 2018, I'm sure he wouldn't mind getting used to the olypmic coach after he missed out on playing in 2014. |

In this years draft, we were talking about the Vorecheck trade, he was drafted 7th and highly touted, but at the time of the trade it was no guarantee h would do a thing, but in the end he was great... |

Sure...I will. Instead of arguing how much AA doesn't suck this is what you and 1979 say. How much does AA pay you to keep up the good word.
If the Jays are 'rebuilding' why the (frank) are Joey Bats, Reyes, and EE on the team.
Wait.......AA has no clue what he's doing. |
