I am not judging AA or The Jays on this season, although I don't see how you can possibly win with that bullpen. I am judging the last 5 years and the body of mediocrity.

As for the Leafs, Babcock probably gets 2 years to be really bad before the wolves will be at the door. That's just the way it is in this market. By then Nylander, Strome/Marner, Brown, Rielly, Leivo, Leipsic, Percy and the vets like Kadri, JVR, Gardiner etc should be ready to at least be respectable.

By pain he means he'll make them do suicides until they cant skate.. Then make them do more. You guys misinterpret what he said. There's no way Babcock will coach a team to tank. The worst the leafs could finish would be 7th.. And that's not a slam dunk pick. Leafs have some good prospects who are ready to challenge for a spot, which means they'll have room to sign some free agents.

It won't be us turning on Babcock if he doesn't make it in 2 years. It will be the media. Of course, there will be people in here complaining on a nightly basis, but I know I won't. If I see them playing with effort every game, that's what matters the most. Last year, they stopped trying and you could tell.

I really hope they continue with the development model they are implementing. Let the kids develop with the Marlies. I feel bad for someone like verhaeghe, who will probably be forced into playing in the echl next year. With nylander being the Marlies #1c (not sure who played center on his line, hopefully him), and the goat slotted in at #2c, it ruins verhaeghe's development to have him playing bottom 6 minutes with the Marlies. He'll probably go to the echl, rip it up, and be called up half way through the year.
