Speaking of which, took delivery of a "Squatty Potty" yesterday (as seen on Sharktank last year) and so far so good!

Where are you getting this info? Everything I've read/viewed indicates there will be multiple suitors. Fine not to like Kessel as a player and cherry-pick spots to poke holes in his stats, but you are under-valuing him pure and simple. He's not a perfect player, but there are very few of those...
- Deeps27

Multiple like... 5? that isn't many, and he has a no trade and 8 per. How many teams could even consider a long term deal like that right now? And he has to want to play there...

I see your point for sure but as many as 5 teams bidding for him will drive up the value high enough for Toronto to get a decent return dont you think?

He wasn't comparing them to other teams, just to the Jay's own history.

But that's not setting the bar very high.

Kessel will likely get dealt because he's an elite offensive guy- and even if there were any guys like him available in UFA, they wouldn't be any cheaper.

Many teams who think they're ready for the next step could slot him in their top line without issue.

So, lack of supply, and a good amount of demand means the Leafs should be able to get a great price, similar to the Rick Nash, Jeff Carter, or Mike Richards deals.

I think a mid-low (as in lower number) first, a 2nd and a solid prospect is good, with a salary dump for the contract. I guess decent return depends on ones perspective. I would very happy with this if the dump is for a one year guy, gives the club money to go after Stamkos and maybe even Seabrooke...

My phone and computer are both on this one now, so I guess I'll stick to it until Bruce and I cross paths again.

He's not "garbage" but he's also not that great. Sure he's done some good moves but he hasn't done anything with the team collectively. Where are we? Last place...again.

His Donaldson trade was a good trade but didn't really fill a hole the team had. That's what trades are for.

He had a 5 year plan to make it to the playoffs and he hasn't really sniffed them other than in May/June ever. To keep his job he has thrown a real young and real old rotation together in hopes it pans out. It hasn't so far.

All I hear from his fans is "we'll have a great time for YEARS to come so be patient". It was said five years ago.

I'd give 10 years of garbage for a championship.

- Aaron_85

I hear ya - he's made some blunders, but like I said the young arms and Donaldson moving forward are enough to buy a couple more years patience from me, and I'm not going to join any picket lines if a new GM is brought in next year. I do hope he's kept on to keep drafting like he's been drafting though.

I dunno about Stamkos and Seabrook, never know i guess but it seems like a pipe dream... i think theyre gonna load up on 1st and 2nd rounders this year and next draft and let guys who can actually build a winning team do their job

You mean the guy who's drafted the best crop of young pitching prospects the team has ever seen develop together, traded the Vernon Wells contract, and traded Brett Lawrie and some more B level pitching prospects he also drafted for the guy who has the 2nd best WAR of any position player in MLB over the past 3 seasons and who is under team control for cheap for the next 4 seasons? Garbage GM.

All good but they count wins and losses and he simply hasn't delivered the former.

Thats where he should have stayed, assisting and drafting, just like JFJ should have...

Shhhhhh, being 10th in prospect rankings is a great achievement

Don't worry that will save us.

The same guy who sold his prospects to compete in a World Series and not even get one playoff game is our savior.

Pretty amazing how technology has made it that we can't even take a poop properly anymore.

- Schenn-Sational!

I tried to buy this last year after seeing it on Sharktank, but they sold out everywhere because of the publicity. Read this:

http://www.dailymail.co.u...nnel=rss&ns_campaign=1490

...and the "kinked hose" example sold me again. Amazon Canada or Bed Bath and Beyond (if you're looking for a pretty nice Saturday... )

Well sure, but cap space gives the club flexibility and there is a real possibility Stamkos could be had, even if he can't, cap space is good. There is zero chance Chicago can keep Seabrooke, they have way too much invested elsewhere and he's gonna get a massive raise. I view these types of UFA's as part of the solution in culture change rather than the usual FA's they bring in that aren't really impact guys....

I was comparing them to the Jays own history, but I'll also compare them to the Red Sox PITCHING prospect pool.

When I get arguments like "Subject A is poop because here's another example from a 30 team league that's done it better under completely different circumstances and a thousand different variables in play" I stop bothering.

I guess when your in the middle of the road in prospects that's a great achievement.

You said AA has done great because of the pitching prospects he assembled. Yea when almost half the league is better you just stop arguing.

For sure. But I think there's a better chance now than there has been in 20 years for a team with the potential to dominate the division for years to emerge. I'm not AA's white knight, I won't lose sleep if a there's a new GM next year. At the same time, writing off his work is folly.
