They just have to hire McCrimmon and Babcock's two best hockey men will be Leafs staff - TheThrill

Picks outside the top 10 over the last decade are a smorgasbord of disappointment with the occasional gold nugget. People (on here) place way too much value on them. - The Law

yea, don't need to draft high to fill in the rest. Especially if you're trading for one of those missing pieces. - Schenn-Sational!
I'd love to have all of those at once, two are real young in their career and the goalie is a steady force for the next few seasons.
Florida only needs to find a successor goalie. If I were Tallon I'd look to draft one or two this year. |

Depends on the year and it also doesn't hurt to own 3-4 first rounders to start a rebuild |

#1C, #1D and #1G?
Pretty (frank)ing good start
Also, if you don't consider Bjugstad to be a very good player, you should probably get your eyes checked.
They are a good team. - TheThrill
This.
And don't forget Huberdeau who greatly improved after Jagr was traded to Florida.
That kid is as clutch as they come. At least he was in Junior. |

I'm okay with that trade as well.
When I think about it, they really could do 2 deals but at the same time. So it would be the one above and then #24 for something and a 2nd rounder. - Aaron_85
Fla will not move Gudbranson in that trade proposal IMO. |

I sort of agree. I believe in just more picks. Higher the pick the better chances but I'm content with extra picks in any round. |

I still don't know what the knock on Corey Perry was to have him drop to 28th overall, he had great numbers in London. Strange one, now every one thinks there will always be one like him around there I guess. |

Sure, one in ten drafts gets a little sexier.
And, of course, a rebuild means turning older assets into younger assets so more picks are great. |

Not the point.
Elite players put up elite numbers no matter who they play with. - Pecafan Fan
The fact that they just so happen to play with other elite players doesn't hurt.
Crosby is a generational talent. Using him as an example is unfair.
A huge part of Kessel's game is his playmaking ability. And playing with some of the guys he's had to play with severely limits what he can do with that.
Not to mention always being the focus.
I do think Kane is the better player, but not by much... and a different environment could have made a big difference in that regard to.
Hell, Kessel was a +23 his last season with the Bruins. Think he just forgot how to play defense? |

Is barkov a #1 center? I'd like to see him get more than 36 points before calling him that.
and yes I believe he will be one. |

I think he will be. He's still a #1D on a few teams I bet. |

Phaneuf is the best defenseman by far on the Leafs. I don't understand the rush to trade him, or Kessel, who is also the best forward we have. Why would any good player want to come to the Leafs if they keep getting run out of town? |
