For this reason I'd be okay with that - but the suggestions that that's the only way you're able to move a guy who produces like he does is laughable. For all the out of shape comments, his durability is impressive too. - Deeps27
I like Kessel and hope the Leafs will keep him.
Nontheless.. the guy NEVER takes a hit (does everything he can to avoid a hit) nor he makes a hit. It's obvious that when you take out the hitting component of the game, you tend to get less injuries. |

I think they might have to take back an older player they might not want that has a couple years left on a semi bad contract just so the trade can happen financially but as far as retaining salary? No, thats not gonna happen... maybe with Phaneuf but not Kessel - user1

take a bike or a car.
I fly quite a lot, and have had a few bad experiences with Ryanair including a flight where I was quite sure we were going to have a serious crash (Rome-Amsterdam flight). Panic all over the plane.
Since that last flight, I'm avoiding Ryanair like the plague.
I hope I'm wrong, but I would not be surprised at all for Ryanair to have one of their planes crashing soon due to bad maintenance, bad treatment of personnel etc. |

thats the problem... it shouldnt be a choice of one or the other... you have Kessel (80 point floater) AND the 60 point Toews or Kopitar or Bergeron.
NO Team can Win with Just Kessel as the only player who is elite.. Not Stamkos or Ovechkin or Kane ...
So all this we need to move him and replace him with a 2 way player instead is ..well silly. You can have Kessel and have one of those other players.
Problem is the leafs havent had one of the other players - senstroll
agree with you to an extent, but fact remains he is still the most amongst the most one dimensional offensive players in the league. Most offensive guys don't have to completely throw defense out the window. He has to go no matter what, but if a GM knows what he's getting and only wants offense, kessel is great.
Having said that, i stand by kane being a better player. Watch him play, regular season or playoffs. His compete is way better than phil's. It's an easy comparison to make, i used to make it all the time years ago to defend kessel, then i started watching more other team's games and you see the difference between kane and phil. |

Isn't Ryanair an Irish airline?
This is pretty irrelevant, for the record. Just curious. |

He's durable because he's fat. Fat protects him from bone breaks and fat is flexible so he doesn't get muscle strains.
Seriously though he's only durable because of his style of play. Never takes or gives a hit. Never gets gritty. |

Sure they're not a good company, but sometimes you have to fly... myself and others have had to jump on a plane for a family emergency before, so if thats all you can afford, you take it.
Thankfully I've never flown with them though... |

I googled it, they're based out of Dublin.
Also, their logo on the tail looks an awful lot like another Irish company's logo....

In Europe we have 'Ryanair'.
That's not even beer league level of airlines.

We flew Ryanair last year from Edinburgh to Dublin. I thought the trumpets they played when we landed meant, to the doors, now! |

Yes, I probably do.
Kessel just had the worst season of his career.
Better to hold on to him now, have him score his 25+ goals up until trade deadline and then get a better return for him if you don't want to keep on to him for 3-5 more years.
The guy that has to go is Phaneuf. |

Where the (frank) does Malkin fit on a rebuilding team? The guy's pushing 30 no? Might as well trade Morgan for Big Joe while we're at it.

Im not sure his past season lowered his trade value all that much, the entire Leafs team was a major let down, he's an elite goal scorer and by far the best trade assets they have, that trade will get them a few nice pieces to go into full rebuild mode, Phaneuf has to go for different reasons i suppose but obviously the return wont be as appealing |

Kessel's "return value" is never returning to the Leafs dressing room, guy doesn't want to play team defense - encrypt
Agreed. I watched the last half of Saving Private Ryan last night, and during the scene were the guy carrying the ammo for the machine gun freezes and watches his buddies get killed, my friend yells out "damn you Kessel".

Pens need to change something, can't afford to keep losing in early playoffs round with Crosby on your team.
