If Kessel and Kane swapped teams for the past 4 seasons.. do you think you have the same opinion?

No, not much to debate. He's 3rd then.

Probably won't find more than 2 guys who have more goals than him in the last 4-5 years.

- systemtool

last 5years:

Ovechkin - Stamkos - Perry with more goals.
Then Phil, tied with Nash.

Phil is 14th in goals/game though.

Yes.

And?

Is this the moment I'm supposed to get mad and start throwing insults and defend Pacioretty even if I am fully aware he isn't the better player?

- Pecafan Fan

Of course not! You're not here to insult anyone or defend the Habs. You just drop by to remind us of all the reasons why the team sucks, and how much they suck, and to ensure that we know it and admit it.

Right, so the solution in Toronto is to trade him. Heaven forbid we have talented players around who have also proven they can produce in the playoffs.

Oh yeah, and while we are at it, trade our best defenseman.

Then I guess you probably could!

I thought we was higher than that, but good to know. Still one of the best snipers though and a very underrated passer/play maker.

Kessel sucks, Bozak is a god and would allow Pacioretty to score 1000 points.
- Dangles13

no doubt he is a better two way player though, but hard to compare a guy who tops out at mid 60's in points to a guy who would consider that a poopty year. at least offensively.

Pacioretty-Galchenyuk-Kessel....that would tilt the balance of power in the east IMHO

- GardinerExpress

i would love to see him in Montreal but obviously it depends on the cost. no sense gutting our pipeline which isn't that strong to begin with...

Oh I agree, I don't think Kessel is Toronto's problem (since he's the team's best player).
Kessel is 18th in points/game over last 5 seasons.

Agreed. Lots of brain surgeons on this site also used to whine about Sundin until he left, and we haven't had a #1 centre since.

We suck not because of Kessel, we suck because Bozak is a #3 centre on a good team, Kadri talks more about being great than actually producing like a great player, Gardiner can't use the body on anyone over 150 lbs, Bernier lets in soft goals at key times, and so on.

Just because Horachek tried to turn JVR and Kessel into getting goals off the cycle doesn't mean those guys are not talented. Hopefully Babcock can figure it out and maximize their talent without sacrifcing too much on the defensive side.

I don't think you can keep JVR and Kessel on the same line, neither can get the puck out of their own zone, neither back check much at all, neither back up the D on a pinch, Babcock has his work cut out.

if you score 30 goals in a season but are on the ice for 60, what good is that?

Need to find the right line combination if they want to keep Kessel. As I pointed out many times, teams cycle the puck on his side as a game plan when in the Leaf zone. Adjustments need to be made and a commitment to the system with him.

maybe Leafs should try playing JVR as a center.. how come nobody ever thought of that idea...?
