why did you omit goals in your evaluation? Is it because one guy has cracked 30 six times and the other only once? oh wait that doesnt help your argument - GardinerExpress

I didn't! I did watch the David Hasselhoff and Donald Trump roasts though. Pretty funny. |

Kane is the better player. Both on paper and on the ice. - Pecafan Fan

I was dead set on getting marner most of the year when it was looking like we were probably gonna pick 5th or 6th. I was swayed more towards strome when we got 4th overall but after watching a few playoff games where marner was a stud and strome basically a complimentary player, I went back.
Marner
Strome

this would be my order, altough I would be fine with any of the 3. No off the board foolishness please (Crouse,Barzal,Provorov) |

Kane is the better player of the two. But not by leaps and bounds and he's been given more of a chance to succeed and excel than Kessel.
I believe we have some very good players, but I don't think we have a good team by any stretch, and until we do, these guys are all going to be viewed below their value. It's hard to be respected when the whole team is playing flawed hockey. |

Yes.
And?
Is this the moment I'm supposed to get mad and start throwing insults and defend Pacioretty even if I am fully aware he isn't the better player? |

Hull also admits he became a better player under Hitchcock and changed his attitude when he had to play with guys like Modano, Nieuwendyk, Belfour and Zubov. Hitchcock also says he learned a lot from Hull. i don't think Hitchcock is as closed-minded as you think he is.
Phil has work ethic issues, i think we all know that. but what he gets away with in Toronto, where he's been so insulted by the organization and where there have just been so few respected leaders, he would likely not get away with in St. Louis. he can be reformed and Hull is a good example. except Hull was already on the downside when he went to Dallas and Kessel, theoretically, should have another 3-4 prime years left. - DoubleDown
Exactly. |

Put Kessel 1 season next to Datsyuk (bye bye Phaneuf) and Kessel breaks 90points easily. - MaximusAurelius
I don't really care about these hypothetical scenario's
He's never scored 40... you cant compare him to snipers who score 50-60

Kessel> Pacioretty - GardinerExpress
it's closer than you think. they're pretty close in points last 2 years and Pacioretty has more goals. and he plays with less talent than Phil. he's also a responsible defensive player, makes $3.5 million less and kills penalties. |

and he is kinda poopty in the playoffs which is why they need help |

I agree with Marner at 4 if available, and it seems indeed Strome would be the better alternative over Hanifin. Somehow I have doubts about Strome though.

someone said apples and oranges and in a way it's true. what if Kessel was drafted onto that Hawks team 10 years ago? and what if Kane went to Toronto via Boston? i think situations helped mold them into the players they are. |
