Kessel to Philly for Vinny and the Flyers 1st and 2nd round picks. Gonna have to take a junk contract back similar to Dion
- Popcorn Kid

And Vinny can lay with Horton.

Better idea:

Keep Kessel, trade DJ Dion and play Kadri with JVR and Kessel.

Phaneuf has a negative impact on all players on the team, and team will be better without the Pylon.

Don't worry, we'll dagger ourselves when we bust the pick in 3 years and run him out of town.

That's probably why everyone says the Leafs should trade Kessel.

He's just too good a player, and a perfect example of drive and determination.

According to BAbcock, if it causes pain, do it. The return outweighs keeping him on a rebuilding team. It's not that complicated Asp.

With a better lineup surrounding him. Kane isn't putting up those numbers with these leaf team. It's not even a question.

Kane it the better player, that's a fair opinion... But the point is there isn't much to choose between the two.

why did you omit goals in your evaluation? Is it because one guy has cracked 30 six times and the other only once? oh wait that doesnt help your argument

Anyone saying hed be a fit in st Louis is insane. Hitchcock would never stand for all that crap. Hed be benched most of the season. Even the legendary brett hull had incredible fights with him constantly......and he was in shape and played well.

No fit in st Louis. If you think so, seek immediate medical attention.

- SMBDragon

Hull also admits he became a better player under Hitchcock and changed his attitude when he had to play with guys like Modano, Nieuwendyk, Belfour and Zubov. Hitchcock also says he learned a lot from Hull. i don't think Hitchcock is as closed-minded as you think he is.

Phil has work ethic issues, i think we all know that. but what he gets away with in Toronto, where he's been so insulted by the organization and where there have just been so few respected leaders, he would likely not get away with in St. Louis. he can be reformed and Hull is a good example. except Hull was already on the downside when he went to Dallas and Kessel, theoretically, should have another 3-4 prime years left.

I don't really care about Kessel's value... but until he actually puts up the numbers, he's not in the same class of goal scorers as guys who pot 50-60 goals.
- robin_steele264

Put Kessel 1 season next to Datsyuk (bye bye Phaneuf) and Kessel breaks 90points easily.

Kane is also surrounded by better players. He's had Toews, Hossa, Sharp, Keith, Seabrook... lesser has had Bozak, Gunnarson, Crabb and others out there with him for substantial chunks of time in the past, before getting JvR more recently. I'd be intrigued to see what Kane would do with that supporting cast...
