Anyone saying hed be a fit in st Louis is insane. Hitchcock would never stand for all that crap. Hed be benched most of the season. Even the legendary brett hull had incredible fights with him constantly......and he was in shape and played well.
No fit in st Louis. If you think so, seek immediate medical attention. - SMBDragon

Kessel's an AHLer now? |

Kessel to Philly for Vinny and the Flyers 1st and 2nd round picks. Gonna have to take a junk contract back similar to Dion |
|
|
|
Kessel to Columbus
Clarkson to the Leafs.
It's the only fair trade possible.

Kessel will fetch a (very) good return.
As for elite scorers, he's in there with Stamkos, Ovechkin, Tarasenko and Tavares.
The fact he has put up great numbers in spite of being paired with Bozak is a good indication of how good Kessel is.
Kessel will indeed put 40+ goals and 80+ points up next season if he's paired with a good C.
I could see Vancouver (with the Sedins), Washington (Backstrom, Ovi), SJ (Thornton), or even Detroit (Datsyuk and Z), and Philadelphia (Giroux) being interested him. That in addition to a team like Florida or Calgary (Burke link).
Toronto would do best to trade Kessel to a Western team, and it seems SJ is the best fit.
Hertl + 9th overall for Kessel + 3rd/4th rounder seems like a realistic trade.

Difference is kane backchecks and has alot more drive than phil. I used to think the same as you, but the more i watch kane, theres a big difference in determination. Similar players no doubt but ill take kane all day. - clark_griswold
Players are different in the playoffs. I bet if you watch Kane in the regular season he back checks as much as kessel does.
In the series versus Boston, kessel back checked like crazy. Playoffs can change a player to do things they don't normally do.
Kane also said kessel is the most skilled player he's ever seen. Argument over. |

Kane is better - user1
They're the same player, nothing to choose from between the two. Both one dimensional offensive players.
Kane is seen as better due to circumstance. If they were swapped chi is no different and the leafs aren't better. |

That's probably why everyone says the Leafs should trade Kessel.
He's just too good a player, and a perfect example of drive and determination. |

The true greats are made in the playoffs, Kane has dominated in the post season while Kessel has barely dipped his toes... Kane has 2 rings that says theyre not the same player |

I don't really care about Kessel's value... but until he actually puts up the numbers, he's not in the same class of goal scorers as guys who pot 50-60 goals.

Kessel has done very well in the playoff.
How many cup ring sis not a reflection of how good one players, but how good of a tea he's on.
Marcel Dionne, no cups.... He sucks. |

yeah the "he doesnt have a ring " stuff can be a dumb argument. On the flip side guys like John Kordic. Dave Semenko, Glenn healy and Nick Kypreos do have rings.. |

yeah Kessel 13g,8A,21 pts in 22 games...what a ghost in the playoffs!
gotta love the "he has a ring" argument. great way to decide who a better player is.
the funny thing is the habs desperately need a guy like Kessel.
I hope the new GM laughs in Bergevins face when they offer up Eller and 26th overall |
