But people were right. Kaberle was not devaluated because he was a Leafs, he was devaluated because he sucks. Look what he did in BOS, MTL and CAR, not much. Look where he is now...

Thing is, do you really want to tear it all down to nothing? Because it is a very very long road back. I do think you need to change the character of the team more than anything else. Not even Babcock is going to turn things around if you keep the guys who don't care. I see Kessel and dion as two major problems, that's why I don't want Kessel. I'm not saying he isn't talented, but players who don't care will drag down the entire team.

They are getting rid of those guys, which is tearing it down...not to bare nothing though, they already have Rielly, Nylander, Brown, Kadri, JVR, this year's picks etc...hopefully hit on some picks and collect some more in the next couple of years. From the way the Leafs are talking they are going to draft and develop which they've really never done before.

He was good with the Leafs, he was just done as a player shortly after they traded him.

Its pretty obvious that we all want a complete tear down. They did a minor tear down at the deadline but until Phaneuf and/or Kessel,Lupul and Bozak are moved this is not a complete tear down. The verdict isn't out on Kadri,JVR,Gardiner and Bernier. They can go either way on those 4 and everyone will have a different opinion on whether they should stay or not

I actually believe they will do it right for once and I think we have better pieces to start with then people think. guys like Panik,Holland,Gardiner,Carrick,Leivo,Mckegg will get a chance to prove whether they are legit nhl'ers or they will be moved or given up on.

Well unfortunately for the leafs he had been the only consistent thing for them in the 6? Years he's been here.

And you can't devalue him for being the only good player with no help.

If we had Kane instead of kessel in these 6? Years we would still be in the same situation, just referencing Kanes name instead.

I have no clue who McCarron is. A deal between the leafs and Habs will never work. The leafs are going to want a massive over payment from a division rival and you know who the first name they are asking for is

I hate no faith that they will trade Kessel or even try to. He contributed to the tank --- it failed. Move on. Shanny just told everyone he was available to soften the blow of the tank. There is no way he is traded. Shanny never had that in mind.

EXACTLY !! There's no doubt this year was a tank year. Every player was playing 3/4 speed. Some were not in shape. Many were encouraged to spend probably longer than necessary on IR (or injured scratch) ie. Phaneuf and his mysterious hand "injury". Any coach, GM and/or management team could have gotten more out of our roster than what was actually achieved. May have been one of the big factors of letting Carlyle go. To say that the value of Kessel and Phaneuf was damaged is really short sighted. Either could perform dramatically better with a good team or one that is expected to make playoffs.
