With Sid or Malkin I guessed he gets another 15 points in an 82 game season pushing him up to .79 or 65 pts.

Those are top line numbers in my opinion, especially when you consider how low the point totals were for the top guys this year.

This has been the biggest problem with the Pens... they overpay and expect 3rd line players to become high level scorers when paired up with Crosby or Malkin. They need to get legit scorers who can produce on their own to compliment the top 2 lines. Same thing happens every year in the playoffs. Teams focus solely on shutting down 87 & 71 and their linemates can't produce anything with the extra space they get.

Not only that but when they put up those points (by virtue of playing with Crosby) they get overvalued contracts, see Kunitz & Dupuis.
