I love the fact that Hextall is bringing in fresh talent to compete for roster spots. Unlike some of the fanbase, it's apparent that he realizes that very few players should feel secure in their roles on a team that has missed the playoffs 2 of the last 3 seasons and hasn't won a playoff round in over 3 years.

Honestly, outside of Giroux, Voracek and Mason, everyone else should be looking over their shoulder.

The only highly-ranked natural LW in the draft is Crouse, and I don't want the Flyers taking him at the 7 spot. I still go BPA, which is likely one of Strome/Proporov/Rantanen/Hanifin. I'd take them all over Crouse.

Hexy is the man. I like that he's bringing in talent to COMPETE for a roster spot, like you said. I just hope hakstol can keep the accountability with players, if xyz isn't playing well enough, sit him. And then the second part of that is, hopefully throughout the season we can have players in the wing, ready to play better than the guy he's replacing. No more room for guys not performing.

Obviously, we have no shot at the first two, however I'd be pretty happy with any of the other 8.

Yeah I should clarify, I don't wanna make it seem like hextall is the savior and he'd fixed everything, he's got a LOT of work to do still, but so far, I like everything he's done. He's worked diligently, he's made smart moves and signings, I'm looking forward for everything else he's going to do. But bottom line is, he's done well SO FAR, he hasn't fixed nearly everything, and he's still got quite the task in front of him with this team.
