Kirby Rychel has been mentioned as a player they'd consider moving

Hmmmmm. I might be willing to part with luke schenn. But I've been told he's a good nhl defenseman

I always thought Kirby Rychel was a bit overhyped. Maybe it's just me, though.

Who is the odd man out? Let me take a first cut at how the defense might look and who'd be left out:

Schultz - MDZ
Streit - Medvedev
Gudas - AMac

7th veteran D: Someone cheap, possibly Carlo Coloiacovo again.

That leaves out LSchenn and Nick Grossmann.

- johndewar

You have them all the wrong side of the pairings, but otherwise it looks OK. Manning could be the cheap 7th D.

Based on age and cap, I'd prefer Manning as the 7.

I guess this means the likelihood of one of the young guys (Morin or Ghost) starting the season in the NHL just took a swift kick in the junk.

33 points in 51 games on a low scoring AHL team is pretty solid for a 19 year old, first-time pro.

I know. And I know he had 90 points in his last OHL season. Just something about him.

Hextall loves the AHL so that was very likely anyway. But that doesn't mean they'll be there all year. It only took Laughton about six weeks and some injuries to make the team. And the one thing we know for sure about the Flyers D next season is that there will be injuries.

I figured it was likely, was just hoping one of the kids would be given a shot. Not likely as it is now. Oh well, I have no problem with waiting a bit longer.

But I have to admit, if CBJ wants to move him after that type of season, it does have me a bit curious. Especially since their management has a hard-on for powerforward/gritty type of players. Maybe he's not as competitive as they'd like him to be or there's some off-ice stuff.

Maybe they have more grit than they can handle with Clarkson and Hartnell.

I just think Rychel is behind Dano, Wennberg and Milano on their list of forward prospects so he's expendable. A Hagg-Rychel trade might sense for both teams

He'd be our top forward prospect instantly. I'd consider ghost

He was making 300K per year at UND. I would guess in the 750K per range with the Flyers

They can trade now. Actually the NHL "trade deadline" is a bit of a misnomer, because it's actually the deadline for players to be playoff eligible on a team's roster.

Very good, thanks Bill!
