I wouldn't do it but many here would at the very least seriously entertain it - ob18
Yup, it's a deal that should be entertained, I just wouldn't pull the trigger. |

I wouldn't consider moving the #7 pick for him. I have not said I would. I said I'd consider Schenn + TB pick and Laughton + a 3rd. |

Not even sure I'd go that far with an offer. If I made any offer it'd be Schenn & their own pick back but nothing more. |

Exactly you always entertain things.....just don't always have to act on it. |

Drouin is 20 years old. The kid is an immense talent. He's playing for a team that has a tough top 6 to crack. Cooper doesn't want to use him in a bottom 6 role, because his skillset isn't suited for that. Drouin scored 32 points in 70 games this season as a 19/20 year old. That isn't terrible by any means.
If the Flyers take Barzal, Zacha. Rantanen, or Crouse with the # 7 selection, are there any guarantees they will even be a full time NHL players when they are 19 years of age? If the Flyers had a chance to land Drouin and all they had to give up was the # 7 pick, they would be foolish not to do it. That said, I don't think TB would even entertain that trade. |

What's the point of moving B. Schenn now? The Flyers basically did all the legwork and us fans sat through all of his development years. I think he breaks out this coming season. |

Would they be foolish or would they seriously consider it knowing they can use that pick and be 3 years away from having to find a spot in the lineup for the player. |

Likely just for conversation or that teams could be interested in him. |

He'll probably want a bigger pay day in 2 years that Drouin would. Plus, he's a natural LW instead of a converted one. He could break out, but so could Drouin. |

If I have a chance to land a talented young player like Drouin, I don't worry about 3 years down the road. |

I'd consider offering Tampa back their pick and maybe B. Schenn for him. - ob18
I would offer that as well. They'd turn it down and we'd both go our merry way.
If you're going to start throwing the 7th overall around in trade proposals, I would be looking for a defenseman rather than a high scoring winger |

Not talking about the Flyers there but Tampa Bay, they have a good roster now with no room for Drouin if they moved him & used the #7 pick for a player they can wait 3 years before figuring out a spot for him |

I'd move the #7 for a high scoring winger, but I'd prefer a more established one. |

I'd prefer to keep the picks even would Hextall as he's said many times.
Let me ask you this Drouin is struggling to get in the lineup & even when he does he's having a tough time doing much with an already talented roster. That might mean nothing but it could also show a lot & something you want to pass on. - ob18
I'm not reviewing Jonathan Drouin as a failure like nail Yakupov, at least not yet. I don't even want Drouin but I do think Drouin will be better than Laughton and we're weak at LW.

Yes. I guarantee that McDavid is going to have a better NHL career than the player the Flyers select at # 7. |

So, you're saying that, if McDavid breaks his leg and never gets to play an NHL shift, he'll be better than whoever the Flyers take at #7? It's a 100% guarantee?
Any chance the #6 overall pick in 1991 would be better than can't miss surefire HOFer Eric Lindros? |

TB would be foolish to sell low on a player like Drouin because there isn't a spot open for him on their roster right now. Yzerman is not stupid. I'm not saying they wouldn't trade him if they were blown away. But the # 7 pick isn't even in the ball park. |
