Ha! Have to admit, watching that series, the potential for a Tampa mini-dynasty is looking kinda scary

Should be fun to watch once the flyers start theirs in a few more years.

That could happen, too -- think they need to inject some straight-up talent into the forward ranks, but in three years, they could be where Tampa was last year, building to this year's frightening combination of speed and skill

Think we have the goaltending

I'm sure someone will make a Carle comment first. I mean, we can't let that bastard get away with, whatever he did here.

Toews is the best player in the game today. He does everything - offense, defense, leadership. He could get his third cup by age 27, which is insane.

I think we have the goaltending as well and maybe even a future defense. It won't take much more for this team to look pretty good in another year or two. First time in a while I felt they are really starting to build towards something.

I always want them to win/make the playoffs, but I'm honest enough to admit it's probably been fool's gold since 2010, especially post-Pronger

I hate missing the playoffs, but I'll admit that they do look like they are building towards something nice

Just gotta pull these prospects through, as many as possible

I'm not going to argue with this. I'd rather have this guy than Sindey that's for sure

I might go Getzlaf but its hard to argue against Toews' hardware.

Getzlaf is a beast, isn't he

I think Toews...I like what he brings, obviously, but I do believe "leadership" is overrated

Easier to lead/win when you're playing with Andrew Ladd, Byfuglien, Campbell, etc., like they were with that first Cup run

But I shouldn't be a hater: He's a huge, huge part of what they do

Looks like Hexy is building for 2-3 years down the road to make this team a serious contender. It will be mighty interesting to see if he makes a bold move in this draft to get another high end prospect that fits that window.

I'm interested to see how the defense is retooled this summer. I wouldn't be surprised to see 4 new guys on the blueline to start the season. If they can just do a better job of getting out of their defensive zone and not get trapped, I think they can compete. Last season, not a lot of creativity coming out of the defensive zone, just a whole lot of chipping it up the boards and hoping the forward can grind it out to the neutral zone.

It's interesting -- I think I'd probably just make the two picks, but you never know. From what I read, I do wonder what it'd be like to pop Dylan Strome into this thing (though I know it's not gonna happen)

The passing -- giving and receiving -- has got to be better. I have to believe that everybody involved sees that and believes that

The Kings really had issues before their two Cup runs. Speculation was Bernier would be better then Quick. Kopitar and Brown received criticism. We have to hope Coots, Raffl, and B. Schenn.

Also, 2 out of the 4 defensive prospects have to pan out and be solid top 4 contributors. It is just so rare in today's NHL to trade for upper echelon dmen near their prime. By the time they hit free agency, the term and cap hit won't justify the return.

Good lord those home Blackhawks uniforms are gorgeous.

I have to admit, I believe them to be pretty iconic. I think both the Habs jersey's remain one of the best in the league as well. I'm willing to give credit to the Bruins Black and Gold, The Aves original home jersey when they won their two Cups and our own! I wouldn't underrate how iconic the Flying P is. Honorable mention, the Blues Jersey's.

EDIT

I feel the Ducks made a huge mistake by not at least having the old Disney Duck Mask on the Shoulders of their current last two changes.

Coburn will hand the cup to kimmo out of respect

I wouldn't accept the kind of pity if I were Kimmo. If he wants to raise it, you've gotta win it.

What do you think of Rantanen? A puck carrying winger is something the organization sorely lacks outside of Voracek.

A puck-carrying winger would be tremendous, too -- I like centers a great deal, but Lord knows the Flyers could use anybody who can carry a puck in the offensive zone

I'm not "sky is falling" on the forwards as much as I just see what they could be if they could get a guy to mesh with Simmonds -- they could have three really solid lines, and I don't even love Brayden Schenn

I would be ecstatic if they found a guy who can really play with Simmonds, quickly

I think the Finnish elite league is probably behind the KHL and Swedish elite. Rantanen is already being playing against more physically mature athletes.

The Flyers always seem to have an abundance of forwards who go to the net and muck and grind in the corners. Forwards like Jagr and Leino added a much needed creative element to the offense.

Strome could be a great fit with Simmonds, they'll have to trade up though to get him

Agreed...what those two guys did is sorely missed, and it would open up.so much if the Flyers had younger versions of those kinds of players

Personally, I would rather see Hexy used #7 in a package to go get Drouin. I know its highly unlikely it will happen.
