Nothing to do with that. I have faith in my player analysis, as should u. Its all opinion. I just dont rely solely on stats. Not saying u do either. I wish i had your optimism, i just take the emotions out of my analysis of the leafs. I try to look at them like any other team and not my favorite.

And you're right to take any Leaf emotion out of your analysis.....for me personally, if I were trading Kessel away, guys like Nylander, Johnson, Brown and Leipsic would be prospects I'd target on other teams. It's not just because they're Leaf prospects I like them. Hell, I know more about the Lightning's system than I do the Leafs system....probably why I didn't mind the Panik waiver acquisition.

You're right, there are plenty of guys who have one good playoff run and then they get overrated and overpaid, like Bickell, but Horton was a solid powerforward for many years. Like, a real powerforward, not a big guy who refuses to hit and scores tap-ins type of powerforward.

This is why the recent talk of trading for Cueto or Hammels is scaring me. It'll take one or more of the young arms to get an expensive aging star like that. I can't remember another time when they had so many great pitching prospects on the verge of being established major leaguers. They need to keep Sanchez/Norris/Osuna/Hoffman/Stroman/Hutchison at all costs, because that could be a dominant homegrown cheap and controllable rotation in 2-3 years from now, the likes of we've never seen before.

i would too. but they aren't premium prospects. Nylander and Rielly are. hopefully Brown. Leipsic can be a great 3rd liner who can score. i think that's my problem with Brown, he's either a 1st/2nd liner or bust whereas Leipsic only has to make a 3rd / 4th line. Brown is not a checker/ grinder (never say never mind you) and would be hard to transition that.

Doesn't matter. going forward our prospect pool is going to improve drastically. The past is the past.

Hopefully next year Hutch is ready, although he is kind of the number 1 now anyway, but Hutch, Sanchez, Stroman and Buerle. Why they let Happ go I'll never know. Janssen was done when they didn't make a trade and now no closer... AA has been brutal with pitching, mediocre with fielders, brutal with pitching...
