He probably is somewhat overrated, I mean he isn't in the same ilk as the best guys of all time, but he's certainly tyne best guy right now. But he knows what turning the laughs into a real team will do for his legacy...

Who didn't want him? I personally didn't think he'd ever want to come here and still don't know why for that matter but I don't know why anyone would outright NOT want him here.

Yup, as soon as Babcock said he wanted to control who the club brings in it was obvious he was going to GM, then he said he wanted to be be close to the ice, so it's obvious a dual role. He'll get paid more than any coach/gm combined so he better be ready to make hay, if he fails in rebuilding the Leafs he will look brutal, if he succeeds, he will have a statue in dundas square...
