They haven't had a (frank)ing chance yet!

What part don't you get about this.

Anyway, I don't agree and I won't agree. Thankfully neither does leafs management.

- TheThrill

I understand they haven't had a chance yet but you keep saying they can do it over and over again when they haven't proven they can (successfully in the NHL like Futa has). This is why I'm trying to tell you if the Leafs tanked for a couple more years their odds of success would greatly improve.

Pretty much just their spicy chicken really. But it's pretty damn tasty. I get it as an appetizer though. No chance in hell I go to Anchor bar without getting Wings
- TheThrill

another legit pizza, is la nova. top shelf.

best deal is to stay at the comfort inn..full of leaf fans (lots of chicks too btw)...crush some anchor wings before....take the free rail transit to the game...rip back several large beers at the game.....crush a la nova pizza after...

all this will still cost you less than a platinum leaf ticket

Futa would be good. or Brisebois.

Whichever doesn't want to intentionally lose

they should just do what the red wings do. blind luck or so im told.

I'm going to go ahead and assume that was thrown at me.

So here's their draft record:

http://www.hockeydb.com/i...aft/teams/dr00005492.html

Point to where they have been great at scouting for their first round picks for the last 10 years?

What I see is that they have a great development system. They can take middle rounders and turn them into good NHLers.

I don't see them being able to identify great players right away, or their 1st round record would be better.

And neither does Babcock but it undeniably helps.

I'm firmly on team Futa. That guy would change this team for the better. I'd be really happy and excited if they hired him.

Fortunately for us, the bolded is exactly what Dubas said they want the Leafs to be. His word was actually "elite"

Exactly, and that's what trolling should be... something that both sets of fans can laugh at, either in content or delivery.

Instead we get folks popping in with "EHRMAHGERDZ, LAFFS SUCK SOOOO MUCH DERP DERP!!! T'RONNO SUCKS, WHAT A poopTY CITY DERP!!"

Kessel has value, pretty big value too. Washington might want him and they've got some great young guys they could give up for him too.
- JohnFergusonJr

He's a difficult player to trade.. The team taking him would need to think they can elevate his work ethic.

Nonsense. We are the only fan base that views Kessel negatively.

Other teams' GMs would love to get a scorer like that

Wait... do you know how?

We can arrange for lessons in happiness if you want? It'll break it down into manageable sections that cover everything from "How to smile" right on through to "Bringing joy to others"...

We can even arrange for baking lessons so that you can cook up a fresh batch of "good fortune cookies" rather than those frownie brownies you've be serving lately

I would package JVR with him to Washington for 2015 1st, 2016 1st, Johansson, Burakovsky and Latta.

Washington said they want to search the market for a #1 RW and the only one out there that is available is Kessel. He's worth two 1sts and a prospect by himself. Add JVR, big body who is on a cheap contract and replaces one of their young guys on the 2nd line. And they have 19 million in cap space. If they have to dump Laich, I'd take Laich in return for salary reasons.

I agree, lost of team will be interested, the only challenge is creating space capwise which limits the number of team where he can land.

we shall see. i think there are plenty of better value players out there. but that's me. i think when he has to play an actual system, his offense will suffer. no centre will make up for that either.

if im another Gm im not trading for him period. Talent wise, he's a top 10 player. impact wise, overall, he's not in my top 40.

That is very debatable.

He's not as young as he was when the Leafs pretty much gave up a similar package for him and he's now with a behemoth contract.....

what about our arguement...

kessel and #4 for buffalo's pick (eichel)? surely you saw a very good player in the WHC

and packaging JVR and phil is friggin 12 million bucks.

he's not worth as much as when we got him. we got a 36 goal scoring 21 year old with no contract.

now he's turning 28, his most goals since is 37 and you have to take the contract (can't dictate it yourself). Plus his prime years were the ones he played for the leafs, not going forward.

good return? sure. worth more than when we got him? no chance.

When they acquired him, he had only scored 30 goals once. Since then, he's done it pretty much every single year. Him and JVR together have averaged 60 goals a year together every year. For a playoff team like Washington, it's a near perfect fit. Their GM even said they want a #1 RW and Kessel is the only one out there available.

Washington has 19 million in cap space (maybe more next year) and we can easily take Laich back. That gives them almost 25 million in cap space to add two guys at 12 million who can give you 60+ goals total.
