Everything I guess. Instead of making an ass out of yourself go get yourself a pair of short pink khaki shorts sir

I mean, I understand shaming the guy for wearing sandals, but denim shorts? Really? I'll wear what the (frank) I want. If I want to wear a Hank Scorpio mask, then God dammit, I'll wear one.

There needs to be more public shaming of asshats.

I'll mow my lawn in ripped up old denim shorts (which I think may have originally been full jeans) and you'll like it.

Considering that your lawn will likely be mangroves and sand, I look forward to watching this. Hell, I'll even bring the obligatory pitcher of chilled margaritas!

Man "shants" used to be me and my old buddies' uniforms. Jeans looking a little worn? Ain't no thang, bring out the scissors, cut them just below the knee, make them look pooptier and then you'll look cool, and you'll have salvaged a pair of jeans...

Something like this can happen anywhere, there are jagoffs like that all over the country. I've seen people shove little kids out of the way for baseballs. It's pretty friggin sad.

Had to comment. My very first hockey game was the Flyers against the Colorado Rockies, sometime around 1977 or 1978. I was 11 or 12, and my friend's dad got the tickets.

A puck was deflected up into the stands, hit a woman a few rows in front of me, and ended up in the aisle. I was on the end, and scrambled for it. I was first there, inches away, and some guy checked me out of the way and grabbed it.

I was too old to cry, but too young to say anything or do anything about it lol. It was my first sporting event so I just assumed there would be lots of opportunities to get pucks or balls lol.

Wow that's actually a heartbreaking story. The first game I bring my son to (whenever that is), if some grown man did that to my little boy, you bet your ass he'd be soaked in beer, and black eyed by the time my son could get to his feet again.

My usual lawn work attire is either a ripped up pair of jean short or a ripped up pair of camo shorts, a shirt that my parents got me on one of their 22 trips to Jamaica, my beat-up "backup" sneakers, and a hate from my mom's prior company. I think my hockey bag smells better than that hat at this point.

It is, and I thought I would react the same way until I realized they would be carting me away with security while I was trying to figure out what happened to my 8 year old while I was fighting and too busy keeping track of where she was.

Then I would be resisting the security because I want to know where my daughter is while they are dragging me away from where she is and I cant see her, and she cant get to me because she is small and the crowd doesn't give a poop where she is.

Geez... That's terrible. I'm sorry that was your first experience at a game.
I've caught a few foul balls at baseball games, being I don't have any kids of my own yet, I always look for a young kid sitting close by and give the ball to them.

Right after I hit submit, I was like, yeah that'd be (frank)ing valiant if I threw beer on a dude and socked him in the eye for pushing my son, but security wouldn't give a (frank) what the other dude did, they're gonna haul me out of the stadium or to the drunk tank, and who knows what the hell happens to my son

See my son was born this past Feb 16, so he's still super new in the grand scheme of things. He's changed the way I live definitely, but I feel like there's still a lot more change to come as he get's even older.

I wanna take a trip out to philly once he gets old enough to where he'd remember it. And then hopefully ghost, morin, etc are all ready. And hopefully by then, tryell goulborne turns into our stud young forward

Funny thing is, there was a time where I thought I would react just as Benji described. Then I hit my 40's and it was like I woke up and everything changed.

I remember taking my daughter to her first Flyers game when she was 5, and thinking, if something bad happens do I snatch her up and run away from the ruckus or just cover her up and hope for the best. Because all of the sudden I sure as hell wasn't throwing down with anyone when I had to protect her.

I think that is why "The Road" by Cormac McCarthy scared me so much. I read that book and was like, how the hell would I be able to protect myself and a small child without getting us both hurt or worse?

Well, it was my friends dad and he was certainly not a tough guy lol. My Dad is an ex-Marine, so maybe it would have been a different story. But it happened so fast anyway, and by the time he was shoving me at least 3 other guys were close behind us, and his attention was on the woman who got hit.

Anyway, who knows what I would have done with the puck, but I'll always have the adventure and the memory

Ah, it's actually a good memory anyway....now

But did you see the video of the Rangers fans who caught a ball and the kid next to them wanted it and they totally ignored him. The kid was bawling his eyes out, and they're taking selfies with the ball in the next seat.

People are blasting them, but as a father I don't know if I agree with them getting ripped. They got the ball fairly, and it wasn't like the kid had a chance at it. He simply saw it and wanted it. Personally, I want my daughter to learn that you can't always get your way. If I was the couple, I would have simply bought him an ice cream cone or something as a consolation prize.

I hear you. Now, my first instinct is to protect my daughter. If she's in danger it's one thing, but better to keep her out of danger altogether.

Makes ya think. Since we had our baby, i'll get these wild thoughts in my head like, what if someone broke into our home with a gun, what if someone attempted to kidnap my child right from me, what if someone tried mugging/ robbing me while I was with my son, what if, what if, what if. Scary poop. makes you realize a lot of things.

It's crazy. Same thing with me. Also, I realized that I have to keep my yap shut about stuff I would have spoken out against before.

Case in point: Walking with my wife and daughter into a consignment shop, and there's a guy coming out with his (I'm assuming ) son. The kid is 3, MAYBE 4. And the guy's screaming, "SHUT THE (frank) UP AND GET IN THE (frank)ING CAR. SHUT UP OR I'M GONNA KICK THE poop OUT OF YOU!" There is not a single thing in the world that this kid could have done to warrant this behavior.

Now, old me would have gotten up on his high horse and said something to the guy. But, now that I have a kid, I have to stop and consider that:
1) This dude is pissed and is just looking for a reason to fight someone, and
2) this guy might have a gun.

So, sadly, I had to leave this kid with this bumhole maniac, and I just told my daughter that I would never say stuff like that to her.
