Any mention of if its a 1 way or 2 way deal? I would guess 1 way and that would give us what 8 guys on 1 way deals?
What about bringing back Gus? He'd be cheap and effective. You could move high price dman like Streit and then a Grossmann and save yourself roughly 5 million in cap hit while still adding depth. - tjp2033
He isn't coming over here for a 2 way deal. Gustafsson wasn't that effective when he was here the first time. It would be a mistake to trade Streit in my opinion, unless the return was too good to pass up. |

I remember Game 4 of the 07/08 Pens series when he beat the piss out of the dude after Upshall charged a player late in the game.
And him popping a few of Crosby's baby teeth out. - jmatchett383
I walked into the third period of that game without a ticket after attending the Phillies game. Good times, can't believe nobody saw. |

This is going to be a great draft. I have a feeling Hextall will be making some noise. I am anxiously waiting to see where this all goes. - J35Bacher

Quite simply because Gus doesn't do any particular thing well enough to be a regular NHL starter and is undersized.

I would like to see if they can turn that around for him.
Interference and tripping penalties are skating penalties. skate more and you take less of them unless you are a turtle.
Zac is just full of stupid penalties - nails
I think interference penalties are a byproduct of getting beat and out of position a lot of times, with a defenseman. I'm going to keep an open mind and see what happens with Gudas though. |

If that is true, I wonder how Ken Hitchcock feels about St. Louis talking to Babcock, while he is still the coach of St. Louis? - MJL
He's going to do the job he's hired to do and coach the team on the ice.
This isn't going to bother Hitchcock |

Yeah, when I think of poor skating I am thinking this as well.
Kind of a mental thing all around. |

If that's true, then Quenneville should be worth somewhere around $15million/year next time around.
..ridiculous. |

I'm sure some other teams would get back in, in that case. Arizona might even be able to match that. - BulliesPhan87
Yeah but they'd probably have to raise the price to their season ticket holder to do it and that would be a PR disaster. |

On a personal level I agree. But true professionals rise above it and do the job they're hired to do to the best of their ability. Hitchcock strikes me as that kind of guy. |

590 is reporting that Buffalo, Detroit, San Jose and St. Louis have all been told Babcock won't be coaching there. |

I agree, just thought maybe he'd be an effective 3rd pair dman for a cheap cap hit. With Gudas and Schenn I feel you can move Grossmann and the PK would probably not take a hit.
Moving Streit would be to gather more assets and get the 5M+ in cap. I have no issue with Streit staying. He had a very good offensive year. I think MDZ could probably be similar on the PP (not as good, but for the cost savings right in line). |
