Schroeder never had the top end speed of Johnson or the finishing ability. Also had more impressive numbers before he was a pro. I was actually pretty disappointed when I saw Schroeder here, I was expecting a more explosive skater and a better shot from him.
- Nucker101

bullpoop you defended the pick if my memory serves me, I believe you said he was ranked that high so it was a BPA pick. I hated it!!!

Point being, just because one or two teams get lucky like Tampa did with Johnson doesn't mean it's an easy thing to do...because it isn't.

Edit: I do agree that they should take some chances on skilled guys in the late rounds if there are any left. Benning has had one draft though, let's see how he does with a much larger sample size.

Spinal Tap - greatest rockumentary ever, and just an all around brilliant comedic showcase.
- Zogg

Yes, it's good but it's actors. It's a comedy. If you want to see a movie about the real Spinal Tap check this one out. Must see. Seriously.

Absolutely disgusting, his job reportedly was paying him 106 K a year. Good to see the reporter calling out the idiots.

Can you image how he's going to explain his dismissal to his next employer.

He'll get his job back via a wrongful dismissal lawsuit more than likely.

No he won't. Public companies have conduct clauses in their employment contract. I have one and I'm sure he's got one to.

Mackenzie (frank)ing Stewart eh... I see Benning is battening down the hatches for a long term tank. He's shrewder than I thought. Looks like we've got ten years of top picks on the way

And get a huge multimillion dollar contract AND be the face of the franchise for the next 15 years... (Winston I'm looking at you).

What's funny is that supposedly every team have like several private detective agencies among other things to go over players they want to draft with a fine tooth comb yet you still get people like Aaron Hernandez, the guy who shot his family and then himself in the parking lot of the Rams and the Dallas Cowboy who drove drunk and killed his friend on the practice roster. I think I read somewhere that the NFL has more players who have been in trouble with the law at some point than any other sport (that's taking into account that the NFL employs a lot more players than every other league)

Outside of work, he wasn't arrested nor charged, and he can claim that she singled him out when others were doing the same thing.

Doesn't matter if it was outside of work, it's code of conduct clause for a public company that runs 24/7.

Outside of work in a public forum on live TV; yes.

"Regarding the incident at the Toronto FC game between a (CityNews) reporter and fans, Hydro One is taking steps to terminate the employee involved for violating our Code of Conduct," said Daffyd Roderick, director, corporate affairs for Hydro One.

"Respect for all people is engrained in the Code of Conduct and in our Core Values and we are committed to a work environment where discrimination or harassment of any type is met with zero tolerance."

According to my reading skills, which are poor, the Canucks have 32 players under contract with 15 RFA's to sign. All of which will not be signed I'd assume.

RFA's

Alex Friesen
Frank Corrodo
Cory Conacher
Peter Andersson
Alex Grenier
Sven Baertschi
Joachim Eriksson
Mike Zalewski
Jacob Markstrom
Adam Clendening
Ryan Stanton
Yannik Weber
Linden Vey
Brandon McMillan
Ronalds Kenins

Why is Friesen first on your list?

I think what you should differentiate is that this company is not private, it's a public company owned by the government of Ontario. Different set of rules.
