Absolutely - addition by subtraction. Having a quality coach and a stable organization usually translates to on-ice success, as you will note was the case this year. - Zogg

Maybe they're wanting to do the same with Subban? - Nucker101
I am not surprised one bit with the return for Garrisson . That is the going price in trades for mediocre safe players. Bieksa will only get a second and Higgins maybe a third at best.
If you want new personnel on your roster then you need to be willing to take a haircut.
I do believe Edler Hamhuis and Vrbata are the only tradable assets that could bring higher than a second rounder.sedins are off the table I am guessing. - VANTEL
We've taken enough haircuts, it would be nice to give one for a change.
Garrisson is a notch above mediocre, and similar players have been traded for a better return, but when the player has a NTC and only agrees to waive for one team, it is what it is.

Finally, someone of stature and standing has said we had a successful season.

Funny thing is that Garrison only made a million more than Sbisa as a notch above average and Sbisa makes 3.6 million as a fringe NHL'er. And the pick they got for Garrison was used to in a trade for another fringe NHL player in Vey.

Bieksa had a better GA/60 rate than Sbisa when they were separated this year. Bieksa was the one who was made out to look worse than he actually is. I still think he's a solid #5 guy, Sbisa should be a #7 at best. I wouldn't even want him on my NHL roster, let alone making 3.6M playing 20 minutes a night. - Nucker101
Doesn't it speak volumes about how bad the situation is when you have to choose between bad and worse?
Jesus... Do I really have to choose one of those two?

Holy Christ Nucker, I triple checked my post before posting to make sure that not only did I not mention Sbisa, but I removed all words that could be mistaken for the word Sbisa.
