Probably Between this poop show and the Philadelphia Eagles, I'm going to be losing my hair at a Ryan Getzlaf-like pace.

He took a team that finished 24 th last year, brought in some toughness and scoring along with better goaltending and made the playoffs . He sure had a horrible year - VANTEL
The team was much healthier this season as well, and the division sucked. Got bounced by the Flames without their best player. |

Exactly , when people play with KB they are constantly having to cover up his mistakes, bad decisions and terrible passes, much like Sbisa had to much of the year. Sbisa looked a hell of a lot better when not partnered with Casual Kev - VANTEL
If they only change one thing... Cripes... I hope they start with him. |

I wouldn't say the Canucks were a bottom feeder. I certainly agree it was a bad year but I think we've already discussed the problems that plagued the Canucks last year. And those problems included the Torts disaster as well as a lot of injuries to top players - not to mention the whole Luongo/Schneider fiasco. I think any team would have taken a significant step back. - Zogg
What do you call a team that finishes 24 th out of 30 then? I sure call it bottom feeder |

Bieksa had a better GA/60 rate than Sbisa when they were separated this year. Bieksa was the one who was made out to look worse than he actually is. I still think he's a solid #5 guy, Sbisa should be a #7 at best. I wouldn't even want him on my NHL roster, let alone making 3.6M playing 20 minutes a night. |

Outside of Vrbata, the best players on this team this year were all Nonis/Gillis guys. Bonino would be another one, but since Kesler was the one he was traded for, I wouldn't call that an upgrade to the team's current roster. |

Ok, if you want to describe a team having one bad season as becoming a bottom feeder, then so be it.
As Nucker mentioned, just having stability and a different coach instantly made this team better. It's not like he completely revamped the line-up. He made a few good moves (love the Dorsett signing) but he also made some bad moves. Time will tell if he was/is the man for the job or not. I agree that it's too early to make any sort of proper assessment |

Hockey is a team game. JB has his visions of what it takes to be a winner. Again he took a farm team that for years was going nowhere, uprooted it added some very key components and in one year made it a front runner. These are the kids that will soon be playing on this team.
Again I will say I have more faith in him , than I do in you or that bang on poster. - VANTEL
Gillis and Benning both deserve credit for the Comets success, a lot of that success is a result of the moves that Gillis put in place prior to Benning arriving.

Sbisa was bad in ANA too, this isn't his first bad season. Ducks fans hated him. They said he sucked outside the whole time there out of one stretch where he was playing average. - Nucker101
He wasn't good in Philly either, he's 25 and been traded twice...says a lot. |

ANA was the only contender. That's a weak division. The rest of the teams were mediocre or bad. Oilers and Yotes were two of the worst teams in the league. SJ/ANA/VAN/CGY were all mediocre this year and non-contenders. |

Too funny , you complain about Sbisa but think KB is top 5
Like you said Agree to Disagree.
I do not need stats to tell me Bieksa sucks. |

Health is all about luck, I don't think Benning was down in the locker room after the games kissing the player's boo-boos'. |

Bieksa being a decent #5 d-man is far from a stretch. He's at least been decent in the recent past. Sbisa has never had a quality season..... |

So the stability of the rookie coach that so many female doged about in the playoffs is the main focus point of our improvement |

Vrbata, shootouts, and a healthy team was the difference. Torts actually had this team out-chancing the opposition but they couldn't finish any offensive plays and sucked in shootouts. |

Burrows was a product of the Manitoba Moose and forced his way onto the Nucks, had nothing to do with Nonis. Also, the 2004 draft was done by Nonis following Burke's firing/non-renewal, but even Nonis admitted they stuck with Burkes picks....Schneider and Edler were among them. |

Benning wanted a big defenceman the Canucks could develop. He said western scout Ron Delorme’s conviction and belief in Stewart led to the selection of the six-foot-four, 216-pound defenceman.
So Delorme is back to having an influence again, what could go wrong?
Gillis at least realized Delorme sucked. |

Absolutely - addition by subtraction. Having a quality coach and a stable organization usually translates to on-ice success, as you will note was the case this year. |
