So what line do you see him fitting in next year? - VanHockeyGuy
He needs to play with some guys who can make plays. He can score. He needs top line minutes for success. I would move him to the wing and put him with a legit center or his career is doomed. He doesn't have the defensive skills or good enough face-offs skill to keep him at center. |

Nope, I'm saying I would rather have a guy that will defend himself and battle. Not be a punching bag while your teammates stand there and watch. - VanHockeyGuy
I wouldn't mind teammates coming in to defend the guy who is the top scorer on the team or the refs to assess a penalty on the guy punching your star player in the face repeatedly.
Sedins can't win with the fans. They have played their way/style for the longest time. They react and people say the other team got under their skin and are acting out of character. Daniel reacts and they both get thrown in the box. |

I honestly think he will still end up being a decent top 6 guy in the league, last season was horrendous for him obviously but he isn't the first young player to struggle.
He definitely has his warts but he still was the most talented prospect this team has had since the Sedins. Time will tell if he ever earns the contract he got but I think it would be short sighted to buy him out. I imagine a team somewhere would trade for him even if the the return is marginal. - belcherbd
I don't see it that way at all. |

The Sedins take a beating season in and season out. They have been durable to the extreme through it all. They may not fight but those two are tough as they come. |

I don't care for any team but Vancouver but I am with you I love Ovi as well. Also Holtby won me over a few years back. - thundachunk
Speaking of Ovi, I love this quote from Elliot Friedmans 30 thoughts.
" Alexander Ovechkin has 475 goals since arriving in the NHL. He’s also in the top six in hits during that time. The other five (a list that includes Dustin Brown, Cal Clutterbuck and Brooks Orpik) has combined for 482 scores. There’s no one like him right now. One opponent had a great line: “The ‘glide’ is gone from his game. He’s Clutterbuck…with 55 goals.” " |

I actually feel sorry for Hodgson, his career is now permanently (frank)ed whether or not he gets bought out. No one is ever going to risk giving him a long-term big money contract thanks to his indifferent play and the baggage he brings with him in the form of his dad (who, if rumor is to be believed, did more damage than help him by being too involved). At this point he'll be lucky to find a spot on an AHL team - DariusKnight
I guess his back is still giving him trouble too. That ain't good for a guy in his 20's. |

Playoff's as we all know, are a different animal. CAL did the same to us this year. You need to battle, if you get hit retaliate. Didn't the CAL players say they were surprised how they could hit the VAN defence and no one did anything? What is that? |

The Sedins don't play defence. Our grit on defence- Bieksa and Sbisa should have taken care of that.
Thought Bieksa also said the refs were talking about calling all the running around, and singling out players from the scrums after the whistle, but didn't...
I like the intensity and play in the playoffs but hate the officiating. Hate the idea that something could be a penalty in the first period but isn't necessarily a penalty in the third. It is reminiscent of wrestling. |

Apparently.
We need more grit in the lineup.
That is a wild stat, mentioned earlier, the number of hits Ovechkin gets in along with all his goals.
We need guys who thrive on body contact and can still contribute.
Looking at Kenins, I thought it was funny to see him sat for not bringing enough physical play to the 4th line when it was so non existent on just about every other line, yet everyone else got a pass. |

Trade the Sedins or have them retire after next season and tank for Nolan Patrick in 2017 |

He had all year to sign Subban. Even if Subban told him that he wanted to wait until his OHL season finished, that still gave Benning tons of time. The OHL season ended on March 22nd. Yet we're seeing prospects who don't even have to get signed until next year and will be lucky to ever become regular AHL'er get contracts.
It's just the little things Benning does that annoy me. Overpaying extra dollars/term for players, paying a little extra in a trade, etc. - Nucker101
You have no idea of what is going on behind closed doors. Who says JB is the reason Subban is not signed. I heard this morning something will happen soon . Unless you have a smoking gun of JB being prejudiced , or doesn't like 5'7 guys, maybe you just want to wait until something happens, before you have an aneurism . |

The defence as we all know is a horror show. Someone runs the net, make him pay the price, not the goaltender. Traffic in the crease, move them out? On the boards get the puck instead of watching over your shoulders because you may get checked. Painful to watch |

Everyone here speculates like 99% of the time and reacts to things that may not even happen, I'm doing the same except without Canuck blinders on.
It's not just the Subban thing for me, it's been many things. |

If he was born in Canada, he'd be the most popular player in the NHL right now by a decent margin. |
