It doesn't even need to be a blogger. Just give a brief posting that it will appear on the main page so that us Flames fans have a place to easily go in and discuss.

Just simple:

What are your hopes / plans for the Flames this off season?

What do you want to see done at the draft? Who or what types of players?

Internal signings? Who should they resign of their current players? What should the contracts look like?

What do you want to see them do / target in regards to trades or Free Agents? Who out of the UFA's? Go after and RFA's?

There, simple put that in a post on the main page with a Flames Logo. Then we can all go in there to discuss, argue, praise, whatever we want to do. When it runs through the main page, then just re-post it. It will fill the time and give us a forum until a new permanent blogger can be decided on.

I agree. I think we have no problem generating topics to discuss.

yea, I don't get why this is so f'n hard. There must b at least a few people itching to write for a Canadian team. For Fck sakes, pick 2 or 3 and have each write a sample/test blog. Consider it part of the interview process. Then you can sign the one we all feel had the best blog.

Jeez, Eck, have some respect for your frickin' website. Clean it up.

Wrote a little blog but I can't figure out how to get it to show up on the Flames page or the main page. Any advice?

I think it requires a lot of time and commitment for not a lot of money. I thought about it, but I don't have the time, am not close to the city now, and wouldn't have access to insider info. Not to mention I am not the most eloquent writer. Something tells me this is a challenge. I really hope dal johnson volunteers himself, as I think he seems the best candidate, but he doesn't post here as frequently so I don't know if time is an issue there. Most of his posts are near long enough and chock full of substance to be blogworthy though. He has my vote

You have to make their "list" of bloggers who automatically get front page status otherwise hey only choose your blog if they really like it. I had that status but haven't written poop in a couple of years but if you want I can copy and paste yours and give you credit. I've trolled he poop outta the Leafs blogs so I wouldn't be surprised if I lost my "front page credentials"

Your call.

If I’m BT I would try and take James Wisniewski’s bad contract off the Ducks in an effort to get Nick Ritchie. (might have to offer them a second in there) This would free up some valuable cap space for the Ducks at 5.5m for the next 2 years, give us depth on defense and a right handed shot. I would then try to move Weidman as I think they are similar players and Weidman’s stock is at the highest it will ever be then make a play for Franson.

All this would cost us in my opinion is 6 million and a second to give us plenty more depth at D size a right handed shooting defenseman and a huge right wing with plenty of up side.

I really think this idea that teams are going to give top prospects if we take on bad contracts of theirs needs to die ...I just don't see teams giving away these types of prospects ...they have to have other options
