Cole Cassels before game 1
“I take pride in shutting people down, but this is a huge challenge, the ultimate challenge at this level,” Cassels said. “If I can hold him to less than a point a game, that’d be great for me and the team.

Mission accomplished
Isn't McDavid averaging like 3 points a game.

- classic321

I didn't see the game, but I saw quite a few against the Greyhound; their goaltender was terrible. It was like every time he saw McDavid coming down he was like, "here you go sir."

I'll catch flack for saying it but I would put Cassels ahead of Mccann in terms of development.

Plus I love that he had suspensions in junior, shows he is willing to get his feet dirty.

Why would you get flack? They're both Canucks prospects. We're supposed to favour one over the other?

Yeah? How so? Tell me what's ignorant about my assessment of his skating you (frank)i*n poophead.

Ignorant of you to not even ask why I felt that way.

I'm sitting here wondering if you've ever actually seen him skate.

He's got skills no doubt, but he's a lazy skater. You'll get a chance to watch him next year, and then you can tell me how great he skates.

- Gullzy

I've watched him plenty. Could he be better? Sure. I have watched him get turned inside out a few times and catch an edge.

Would I take him over Edler, Bieksa, Sbisa?

YES.

You might might recall the team went on a pretty damn good run with ClenD and a few fill ins back there while the regulars were out.

He's just fine. Pretty damn good deal on JB's part.

Somehow you are unhappy. Give your head a shake.

Just in time to trade Bonino for a first round pick.

Don't think he said once that he wasn't happy with the deal. He said that he didn't think Clendening was a good skater. It's always the same routine with you. Whip up an argument with someone by throwing together an incoherent set of points that all too often have no relevance on what the other poster has said. Give your own head a shake

Literally every time he posts. I don't know how nobody has called him on it before now. Guy is a total asshat to everyone in here that disagrees with him

Colborne from HERO to ZERO.

I haven't seen the penalty, but seeing some reactions apparently it was REALLY stupid.

'Cause he's not the only guy that does it and if you called out everyone that did it you would never get to talk hockey, or anything else, 'cause you'd always be calling somebody out.

That's my rational, anyways.

I disagree. Generally speaking, people on here are pretty good about at least maintaining a baseline level of respect. Sometimes things get heated but regulars are pretty good about not getting personal. At least that's been the case in the past.
I started my post by disagreeing with you, but I would think that no part of my post came across as aggressive, condescending, disrespectful, or rude. Healthy discussion and disagreements are great and make the site fun, but that's not the same ilk as what we're discussing

He enjoys to argue his point. It's just not fun when people start calling each other names. Lol

I disagree. Some of the regulars on here can be Richards including you.. In particular I recall after I called a couple people out for some comments they made that lacked understanding, I was attacked personally.

I still can't believe that Trade for Despres.... from Pitts perspective that was an awful trade. I would love it if JB could get a player like him for Bieksa lol

NOBODY believes that trade. Complete incompetence by the GM that is trying to hide behind an 'off ice' problem?? Absolute 'merde'! The information came out that Rutherford wanted Lovejob from the start of the season, so in a lot of people's opinion 'invented' the problem. he should of at least got a pick with the player.

He did win the Cole Bortuzzo trade though - still he doesn't get a pass!

A quick question guys not that I want to start an argument between you guys but.....

Yesterday you (most) wanted to trade Higgins, to us. It's true we need bottom 6 help like the Oils need a coach. But why don't you want to keep him?

Also, how is Sven B looking for a top 6 start next season - I named him as a guy to get but a few said he is already a bust (a few being posters on our thread). I would love to see him on Geno's wing or Sids for that matter. Hoe did he look in the 2 playoff games for you?

Hopefully something young guys like Virtanen, Jensen and Shinkaruk can grasp in the near future!! Very near future...

Personally speaking, it's not that he's a bad player, it's just that I want to see new guys given a chance. As long as Burrows and Daniel Sedin are here, no ones going to crack the top 6 unless they slide into Higgins spot first. Add to that that we can probably get a decent pick for him, and you get an idea of why I think people want to see him go.

How can someone say that about a 22 year old? Probably the same ones who said Markus Naslund was "a bust" and traded him for Alek Stojanov.

What a joke. I thought the reason why we got our own AHL team was so we could develop players, not worry about championships or making money. Virtanen should be in tonight without a doubt. Plus i'm sure he could contribute anyways. If pro's can't handle a new guy getting playing time then they're not pros!!!!

Among the sillier things I've read here over the years.

I loved how the Flames took the quick 2-1 lead only to have their hopes dashed on the jagged rocks of the California coast. I have a few friends at work who are Flames fans. They were so pumped, like they actually believed their team had a chance to tie up the series, and maybe, just maybe move on to the next round. I f'ing hate the Flames, and it's satisfying to see them lose because of their aggressive tactics backfiring on them. Got to feel a bit bad for Colborne, seems like a good kid, and was pretty down on himself after the game, but his guys had plenty of opportunity to tie it up late and couldn't get the job done.
