Any idea if Babcock is allowed to talk to other teams? I don't know if the 23 different blogs about the same thing are legit, or just some trick to get me to read.

Seems to me... a Coach wants to take over Ken Holland or any other GM's and decide who plays in the team...correct me If I'm wrong. He wants to have a say who comes in and who comes out but actually not doing a real work for the GM job, nothing but talking. No? is that want he wants? A Coach / President director player personnel? Is that why Detroit gave him permission to talk to the other teams cuz they won't give it to him and the GM think the other teams won't give him that too? To me, A coach is trying to bypass the GM and go strait to the owner but no actually not saying it to the GM. Maybe? There's no vacant seat for that job in Detroit Mr.Babcock. Just send your application for GM job and fire the coach and put yourself in there, how's that sound Mr.Babcock? Maybe he wants to be the next Pat Quinn in the old days. he already has a say with Detroit but wants more, more, more. I can only imagine what Shanahan would offer him after a year from his job or Chiarelli after reasonably got hired for their job. Funny!

All I'm saying is that on a legal challenge the NHL has left themselves open to the possibility of a winnable lawsuit by a fired coach/GM (apologies for not being clearer on this point in my original post) being denied work in their chosen profession. The "compensation" a firing organization receives is not being required to pay the remainder of the contract when hired, which could be in the 100's of thousands, if not millions. Organizations world-wide take the risk of IP leaving their company every day.

You don't know anything do you.. Leafs fired Carlyle this season guess what they're still paying him for the remainder of his contract which is why San Jose had to ask us for permission to speak with Carlyle he is still a MLSE employee just not actually doing work.. so to speak

How could the islanders be one of the teams for Babcock when the islanders have said in Newsday that they were keeping the coaching staff. Is that what you heard or just throwing that out there
