i think the NFL is thrilled about the whole thing to be honest. normally the week after the draft is the beginning of their dead season. this keeps them front page news for another week or so. they're sick, sick people running that league. Goodell's probably got his fingers crossed for another Ray Ricing.

it really is a very strange league. when I speak to colleagues in the US it honestly feels more like a cult than a sports league

Looking at these 12 forwards, they need to remove 2-3 grinders and add 2-3 scorers.
The question is who do they remove and who do they add?
Is Scherbak ready to make the jump?

I don't think he is. It will be interesting to see how he does at camp, and where the Habs will have him play. Back to the CHL, or he could play in the AHL...I would be surprised to see him making it to NHL that quickly.

believe it was Desharnais who whiffed on that chance

He was also the one who setup Weise alone in front of the net.

I guess I'm used to hockey and the way they do it I just find it weird that a team picks a guy 1st overall and he's not there, he's at his mom's house or something with his posse watching on TV and drinking grape juice

a lot of people are saying Patrick Sharp but Pierre McGuire (i know...) was saying yesterday that teams need to be careful with him. he's playing way down in the lineup in Chicago and if you're counting on him to play in your top 6 and score 25-30 goals, you're going to be disappointed.

Yeah, Sharp didn't have a very good season. Hence why he was bumped down to the 3rd (and even 4th) line. Also, don't forget the guy is 33 and has 2 more seasons at 5.9 million per remaining on his contract.

What I mean to say here, is he'll be traded to the Panthers.

not mine either but he's still an upgrade (would prefer him to Parenteau or Weise) and if Petry doesn't re-sign, the money will be there. another guy they'd maybe look at is Matt Moulson?

so yesterday I go to the community mailbox to get my mail. there was some old dude there.

we both grab a huge pile of stuff from the mailbox and immediately throw 98% of it in the recycling bin.

so i turn to the guy and say "not sure why people complain they won't get this tuff at their door anymore"

BIG MISTAKE

guy (frank)in TEES OFF on me about how it's his God-Given right to receive his (frank)in junk mail at his doorstep.

I think next tim I'll follow him home and just toss piles and piles of dagwoods coupons on his (frank)in lawn
