Eller & Petry, best Habs again tonight. One of them was a forward who managed 27 points in 77 games
- Habsolute009

I'd like someone to explain to me how Eller is the best forward tonite or so far in the playoffs?
Has he scored? Did he even came close? Did he make a brillant pass to create a scoring chance for his winger?
WTF has he done exactly that Gallagher hasn't done?

Hes the teams only true offensive threat, he is covered; getting open isnt really going to happen much. The rest of the team needs to step up; this could give him more room. They have likely the lowest offensive talent in the league and its showing.

Certainly doesnt help that we can see Gallagher get cross checked to the face away from the puck after the whistle roughly 10 ft from the ref and no call. meanwhile the most minor infractions send the Habs to the box. I dont care if they get called for stupid poop, but its time TB gets called for it too.

I agree 100% but Pacioretty was the only threat all year and he still managed to score goals

Pacioretty is a guy that'll help you get to the playoffs. He can't go it alone in the playoffs though to be fair. Galchenyuk has been a huge disappointment imo. Thought he'd help out a lot more scoring wise.

You can thank Gallagher and Prust for opening their yaps in the 1st place. Maybe if they could get control of their exits or force some turnovers in the neutral/offensive zone to have a chance at a decent set up...TB is controlling the areas they need to and the Habs are coughing it up when they don't need to

Habs have a bunch of good forwards. Hard workers and defensive. Players a lot of teams would love to have. Only problem is that we have too many. All stone hands. Time to get rid of a couple for a couple players that can put the puck in.

Who really excels in the playoffs? Kane is mister consistent come playoffs...have over a point a game in the playoffs and thats over 100 playoff games. Toews disappears now and then but is still fantastic, don't get me wrong.

Galchenyuk looks completely lost. As soon as he starts being aggressive, he either takes a penalty or loses the puck and is out of position coming back.

playoff hockey defensive coverage is much more aggressive though. I dont think he is a playoff monster, but I think he is doing the best he can while the rest of the team flounders around. If you point the finger at a soul person, the only one with that much pull on the team is the coach. Pacioretty is not the reason this team is sucking and the "system" clearly is not good against TB, this should have been changed up by MT and it clearly hasnt been.

Shouldn't matter, if the refs carry a bias like that than they aren't professional level. How does MTL even stand a chance if the bias for calls is that far skewed?

I've come to the conclusion that the blogger is only a vessel for the real writers on this thread. it's like monopoly. the blogger is go. pass go and collect 200 dollars. all the action is after go.

whether the canadiens win or lose, therrien has to answer for a powerplay that is 3% in the playoffs and for not being able to get anything out of galchenyuk, eller, Devante-pelley, dd, p.a.p and for way over playing markov all season to reduce him to a #7 dman in the playoffs. therrien coaches for his job and not for the vision bergevin supposedly has. I can't imagine this team buying into therrien and his "system" come next season.

I like Toews better than Kane but the Hawks struggled without Kane and now look like they could win another cup

The refs aren't committing unforced turnovers and getting sucked into TBs game
