Copy and paste from a recent Vantel comment.

"I suggest overhaul the D including him . The entire D core is soft and can't score. Not just Sbisa "

That is all.

- VanHockeyGuy

Yes, but you just can't lump everyone in together. There are still some quality d-men that we have - Hamhuis, Tanev, Edler (he actually did have a decent season but I don't think he'll ever return to his 40+ point days again). Could we use some additiional toughness in general? of course, but that's not going to be easy, as there just aren't that many quality d-men available (especially the puck-moving/first pass types which we are looking for). So for the moment we are stuck with the defenders we have. But what we can do, though, is to mitigate things by keeping a guy like Sbisa's ice-time nominal or putting him in the press box - he is the biggest liability out of the whole corps and just because we don't have that overall toughness element at the moment, it doesn't mean a guy like Sbisa should get a pass, just because he dishes out the occasional big hit. He is simply not a very good player but for our sake, I really hope that there is improvement in his play, given he's still not that old for a d-man. For the amount of coin he is getting paid, there better be some improvement.

I know for myself I am not high on Sbisa but I am not going to blame him for the season. He is an easy choice for whipping boy. He played with Sh1t players all year . In the 7-4 loss against the Flames game 7 he and Bieksa were on for one goal , Edler Tanev two goals and Hamhuis Weber 4 goals , but all fingers point back to Sbisa .

I suggest overhaul the D including him . The entire D core is soft and can't score. Not just Sbisa

- VANTEL

Sbisa is just a part of the problem. It's a bad contract but KB's isn't any better. Edler isn't what he used to be offensively and Hamhuis is too similar to Tanev. Everyone else is spare parts. The difference to me between Tanev and everyone else is that Tanev does what he is expected to and he does it at a high level. Everyone else is just poopty at everything. We need scoring and some grit in the back end - but that doesn't mean that we don't need a smart but soft shutdown guy like Tanev. End of the day what we need are good players no matter their skillsets

Is Andrey Pedan a Brenden Dillon in waiting?
- LeftCoaster

That'd give the D core a nice boost. I think he's probably a bit further down on the depth chart though. My guess is Clendening or Corrado gets the call before Pedan

San Jose. My dad's got a place here by the water. About 30-40 min drive from San Lucas. Probably do some fishing this weekend Apparently the striped marlin fishing has been pretty hot

Someone in management has to one day ask these simple questions

Who is our QB on the back end?
Who is the trigger man on the back end?
Who is the guy that makes other teams keep their head up on our back end?
Who is our pair to play against other teams top line?
Who is the guy that will defend his teamates on the back end.

When that is figured out , you will have a rounded D core

Pedan can't go back on waivers or we lose him.

The Iguana Bar still there? Marlin is fun to catch, not great to eat. Red meat is for Cat's. Go for Dorado or Yellowfin!

Never been to the Iguana Bar, I'll keep my eyes open. Yea great battle and seeing that monster in the water is special. Not a tuna fan, and I think they're out of season anyways. Always try to grab a couple of Dorado/Mahi. I still think Wahoo is the best

It's in Jan Jose, in town. Great place to pick up drunk tourist chicks, I'm told.
Yellow Fin is there, you just need to go out further. Saludos!

I think he is a long shot. I heard his Skills lack , he has an NHL shot , he fights , but he can be an adventure. Bieksa 2.0

About 7:30 - 8:00pm? Just enough time to get nice and smashed. Always enjoyed being hammered during a tropical sunset; on beach, on balcony, on mountain. Hawaii's good for that. Cabo too.
