No, once they play 25 NHL games they are no longer eligible for the Calder. I don't think that will be a problem for us

He will probably be in the running, & with Johnny this year & if he gets nominated next year just means we have some good young players grabbing the reins for the future & Im a happy guy!

Is it 40 for a goalie? Not starting, but dressing? I know the rule is slightly different.

You're not but some of your brethren on Hendo's blog bring out the pitchforks when any challenges that notion.

I think Feaster laid the foundation and Burke being hired took the hockey management out of Ken King's hands (thank god). Its the baby steps the Oil are taking...

Yeah, I'll never forget when Feaster announced his "marching orders" was to make the playoffs. Pretty knew it was an impossibility and that his days were numbered. Aw well, he's a fat ass.

Why?

Put the drugs down dude!

I don't think Ortio is an upgrade over Ramo and would probably bring back more than Hiller in a trade. Ramo/Hiller gives them the best shot to win next year and then they have Ramo/Gilles moving forward.

They have goalie depth and should use it to fill another hole if they can.

Well ya man....who actually thinks they are legit cup contenders at the moment? Your comment gets worse and worse every time I read it.

A lot of people are expecting them to be back in the playoffs next year.

They will be...unless they have some really bad luck or an abundance of injuries. Who might they lose to free agency?

Do you not see the Kings or Sharks bouncing back? Do you have no faith in the Oilers?
Do you think the Flames will be better than the Stars or Avalanche?

Sure it could happen but realistically, almost everything that needed to go the Flames' way this year did and they were still the 16th team to qualify for the playoffs.

Stars won't improve much.....Avs probably will be a bit better, Oilers will likely have a modest jump in the standings...Sharks could go either way ( I can see them getting younger), Arizona will stink, LA will probably make the playoffs, Nashville might slide a bit if they don't get the hot start not year...Van will miss....hard to say, really, but I think 11-6 or even 5th in the west will be really tight....and some really good teams will barely miss, not unlike this year. The Only locks I have St.Louis, Anaheim and Chicago....
