he's in a tough spot. pure snipers like that don't make it to UFA. the guys who make it to UFA are guys like Radim Vrbata or Alexander Semin... not gamebreakers and just more of what we have. and we don't have a deep enough pool of prospects and young players to go out and trade for a guy like that. but i think he figures that he has enough time to wait and hope that prospects develop with his 2 franchise players being 27 and 25. even if we're swept by Tampa i don't see any offensive help coming this summer.

that was the right move. he knew that there was absolutely no one available who could help this bunch score goals so he shored up the backend in the hopes that they could A) win enough 2-1 games and B) avoid Tampa.
