He doesn't hit or bruise other teams to be bottom 6 . He is not fast. His goals have dropped off the planet.

Just take him to the glue factory

Well i'd have to say bye bye to burrows also.

Problem is he is not playing with the twins and won't be, so he will probably be scoring 20 . It is better to move a 30 goal guy at the draft instead of a twenty goal guy with 8 weeks left on his contract
- VANTEL

So i, the one guy on hear who rarely makes up situations gets blown to pieces by the guy who drops it on the daily?

Vrbata playing with the twins is not something out of this world.

You've mentioned a lot more ridiculous scenerios than that.

Sorry I don't get the love for Higgins ? 12 goal second liners that don't hit, or fight . Why do we want to repeat this again and again . Just because he doesn't make mistakes?

Give me a third liner that will make a couple mistakes, score 15 and bruise the other team

- VANTEL

I don't get it either. Was just trying to watch him play and he usually makes safe plays. I don't think he adds much, doesn't take many chances which is why he doesn't make many mistakes.

Just trying to understand his amount of ice time and presence on the 2nd unit pp. It might not be about him being that good as much as the rest of the team being that bad- in the eyes of the coaching staff.

I want to see him with a lesser role, or gone altogether but since he has filled such a prominent role with every coach we have had, I don't see a big drop in his ice time while he is here.

I never said it was ridiculous . I said it wouldn't happen.

Based on my theory of WDs slip up , What happens in the room, stays in the room. With the beat reporters all saying a trade will happen, and all the chances that WD had to reunite that line leaves me to think there is some kind of friction.

The Sedins came out and publicly said Burrows is the best winger we've ever played with , backed up and confirmed by WD that he too thinks Burrows is the best fit, leaves me to think Vrbata / Twins is a pipe dream

Really makes you wonder re. the cause of the friction. Sedins put up with lots of stuff. Vrbata appears well liked by former team mates and was well received when we played the Yotes.

Depending on the return, I don't see any reason not to move him if management thinks the club can make the post season without him.

Yeah I don't want to assume, even though I do all the time, but his value to Canucks as an asset will never be higher than now

Moving Vrbata is pointless unless you move the twins aswell.

Either none go or they all go and Im thinking the latter isnt going to happen.

- vancity787

Why do you think they are a package deal? Selling. Radim doesn't mean we are tanking, it will simply help replenish some lost picks. After his no show in the playoffs I suspect they will consider it. If we can get a first in a deep draft for an older player we signed as a UFA its a big win

I'm with ya.

He shouldn't be the straw to break the camels back, either way. Just goes to show how much work the roster needs.

Did change arrive and leave already?

Vrbatta seems to score anywhere he is. Talented guy.

Seems like lots of people here want a line up the same all year. Why? Some will say building chemistry..... but I think chemistrybis obvious early on...

Personally I like chNging sedins winger to fit the individual need that game. Burrows, vrbatta, kassian all good w sedins But different. They all bring a different game from the sedins. You can change it by period or shift if you want. Or by PP.

Im also in favor of playi ig sedins apart at times too. Henrik won the scoring title when daniel was gone to injury 1/3 season. He became a much better player. When should it be done? When the sedin line is ineffective Gainst a team. Playing them apart sometimes allows them to learn new tools they dont get when playing together. Rounds out their game. More dimensions. How much better did henrik get that year? Substantially!

Variety is needed..

Reading about the World Championships is always a bummer. It's the hockey version of buying a Corvair, or getting a palm pilot for Christmas.

Gotta love Bettman and the schedule makers..... hmmm, let's see, when would there be the least amount of people available or willing to watch a hockey game.....hmmmm.... wait a second........Saturday morning at 9:30!!!!! What a @#@#$ mickey mouse club. Christ I hate Bettman (no it's ok, though, I've got a dart board with his face on it )

Good points about rotating wingers in and off the Sedins line as is warranted. You're right that each of the above noted have different skill sets and styles so its a good idea to take advantage of that depending on what a particular scenario requires.

Crosby going there blew my mind. But the kid has passion, gotta give him that.

Speaking solely for myself, bums me out that the talk in Vrbata is on the move. I have seen waaaaay too much Coyotes hockey over the years, and he was always a favorite- thrilled when we picked him up. Though not the sentimental type, I loved him being in Van like no other.

Comparative stats, and dissecting them is laborous and boring, so correct me if I'm wrong:
Pre-January, Sedin/Sedin/Vrbata had best production in three seasons or better.

Post January(ish) and line shuffling: Sedin/Sedin/Burrows- production is ok, but secondary scoring supplements and team is more balanced.

Already been said, but if I was RV, promised a certain job, delivered exactly (if not more than) what was expected, then' demoted', I wouldn't be happy either.
Again, thats the eye test. The actual math/stats might look different, & I'm open to being wrong.

Now it has - FLAGGED

Listen, you only flag the ones you love most And I flag from the heart. Flagging (and before that, flogging) has been in our family for generations, even before flags were invented (we'd use burlap sacks with attached tassels or, barring that, sequined underpants on a stick). Its a thankless task sometimes, but just knowing you are making a difference makes it all worthwhile (also Ek gives out Canadian Tire money for each flagging)

I'm pretty sure, stateside, a Flag AND a report will most likely result in a horrific police beating and civil unrest.

(Sidenote: if you missed the dash cam of the officer purposely running over the suspect in his patrol car in Marana, AZ a few miles up the street, look it up.)
