#Canucks prospect Jared McCann with 1G last night - he now has 14 PTS (5-9-14) in 13 playoff games

Linden says the want to get younger so moving Vrbata makes sense, especially when Jim Benning suggests Sven Baertschi is a top 6 winger who he thinks can play next year. It also would probably get a decent pick(s) in this year’s draft. Possible. |

Vrbata to Pittsburgh would make a lot of sense.
You have to think Vrbata would waive his no trade to play with one of Crosby or Malkin. Especially if the option in Vancouver was going to be Bonino.
Botch mentioned a comparable being the Pominville deal which landed a 1st, but that doesn't mean a 1st has to come back. The Canucks would LOVE to land one of Pittsburgh's young D-men and Pittsburgh is in win now mode (or at least, they're trying to be). |

Carol im surprised boudrea has coached himself out of the 1st round even!
But he does have a stacked team with lots of experience. Sometimes teams win regardless of the coach. See canucks 2011 for excellent example.....although AV did manage to ruin that in game 3, 4 and 7. |

Plus Benning has shown he likes getting prospects that are a little further along. Picking up one of their young D man (a former first rounder) would make sense in a quicker rebuild/tool |

I don't see Pittsburgh as a fit. I think the Pens are going to reshuffle the deck and look to get a bit younger. I see guys like Scuderi and Kunitz gone with Scuderi being bought out and Kunitz being traded. Paul Martin and Erhoff will also be gone freeing up cap space. I don't think the Pens would look to Vrbata as he is getting a little long in the tooth. They might as well keep Kunitz. |

best you'd get from pittsburgh would be sutter and a harrington or dumolin. not sure there is a deal there |

They should wait to trade vrbata until the next trade deadline. They'd get so much more for him at that point. |

Bonino 1G, Hamhuis 2A in game 1 of WHC, both teams won
Hamhuis paired with Burns... |

I think pitt is in a bit of cap trouble and i dont see them trading young assets on D for a guy on a one year deal. Pitt needs a bit of a shake up, trading for vets with one year deals make no sense for them in my opinion |

Put the Red Wings on the Vrbata Trade speed dial. Would he like to play with Datsyuk? Too much young talent, not enough spots. |

Unless he doesnt have a good season while not playing with the Sedins... It wouldnt diminish his value much, but probably safe to say that your summer price would be fairly similar to 'bad season trade deadline' price |

Ahhhh right of course. His cap hit is slightly hefty. he definitely this year that he can still produce. He's a really underrated player.

You know you're going to have a good day when you stop at your buddies house last night, pick up some mary jane, and he's got copies of like 15 sublime dvd bootlegs along with countless bootleg cd's needless to say I haven't gotten much today at work...
