Their ability to annoy with Wesie, Prust and Subban will play a signifgant role. Tampa must remain disciplined or they'll get burned by Montreal's power play. - glove_was_stuck
If it ever decides to come to life...its like 1 for 20 or something atrocious like that.
But i agree with you - if tampa becomes unravelled, really if either team becomes unravelled, it'll end poorly for them. |

TB most likely wins the series. They just simply outscore MTL and the style of play both team employ favors TBs scoring depth.
That said MTLs biggest hope is that they just beat the hottest team heading into the playoffs, a team that has also had their number since 2013 playoffs.
I would like to think MTL will put up a good fight, but my head is telling me this is over in 5, maybe 6. |

In the last 2 years, Habs went from relying on the PP to score a few goals to scoring most of their goals at 5 on 5 and struggling on the PP, kinda weird. |

swept mtl 5-0 and outscored them 21-8. and im pretty sure price was in for all the games but 1. we are in his head. and bishop is in theirs. that 1-0 OT win in MTL may have been one of the best games all season to watch. MTL doesn't have the defense to shut down the bolts. this one will be over in 5 or 6 if price steals a game. - boltsfan48
None of this means squat. It's a best of 7 series end of story. Besides most of those regular season games were very close so a lucky bounce here or there could have swung any of those games in Habs favor. Now that being said Bishop seems to relish being opposite Price (at least in the regular season) and the matchup seemed to bring the best out of him. With Price at the other end he will need to be at his best.

Also... what the hell is a 'cocoon defence'? Is this something you've made up a name for? - mlindsay

Agreed. Need to step it up. Montreal's defensive system isn't quite as strong as Detroit's, so there is some room for optimism. Still, a better performance is necessary. |

I was extremely impressed with how well Stralman played. He played well in the regular season but during this series he just never seemed to be out of position. IMO he was the best TBL defenceman during the series. Glad he got the empty netter. |

Like I said last night Stralman was the best player on the ice in game 7. I think he is still way underrated by most people. |

Not me. All of those who questioned obviously didn't watch the Rags run last year b/c IMO he was their best d-man. I think everyone looked at his stats and based their opinions on his lack of stats but most d-man aren't signed for their offensive contributions, they are signed for contributions that don't show up on scorecards

Absolutely agree.
His underlying "advanced" numbers have been phenomenal for a long time. |
