Keep Burr, Trade for a solid top four dman. Keep Weber as a PP specialist.
Trade or Buyout Bieksa.
Bring up Virtanen.
Try to get younger.
Throw a roast in the slow cooker.
Go to work. - vancity787
I'd like to see them go after Edmonton's first for 2016. It probably won't be top three, but I bet that it's top ten.

I have not believed in there ability to do anything for the last 4 years or so. But Chirelli is a plus, And Mcdavid is going to make a HUGE difference.
If PC could could a move for a dman and maybe Sign a decent one. This team could see being much better next year than this year. |

Trade Higgins, Burrows and Bieksa.
Don't re-sign Richardson, Matthias and Weber. - LeftCoaster

Which is why they might be agreeable to moving next year's first. They clearly want to get things rolling, and if they want to hold onto their golden boys, that doesn't leave a lot of attractive assets outside of draft picks. |

I keep hearing buy out Bieksa everywhere. If he doesn't want to waive , and we buy him out , we are stuck with a Cap hit. If we put him on waivers Buffalo would pick him up in 5 minutes. No cap hit then - VANTEL
Players have to clear waivers before they can be bought out anyway. |

How available is Alex Edler?
If traded what hole(s) do the Canucks want to fill |

He has a very young family here and likes Vacouver, so chances are slim |

But the option of playing with Karlsson may entice him , along with being in the East in a very nice city. |

You could also get a very nice return for him. |

Bieksa? He's worth at least a 2nd round pick if he's willing to waive his NTC. |

I hate the idea of paying guys for past performances too, but I think there's a tangible difference between one off performances and a solid track record. Dude has a solid track record and could be had without giving up any current assets (except money & cap space). If this team is going to "retool", they'll have to dip into FA to make other guys expendable. Hopes are that the expendable player brings you futures in the form of draft picks or prospects. If your goal is to stock up on draft picks, without sacrificing prospects (and their development), this is the way to do it. - Gullzy
I didn't mean to imply he was a one off performer-- I have been following him since Philly. I'm a fan. I would take him @ 3.68 per over Crosby any day of the week.
I don't think you're too far off base-- Would you put him on the top line?
Is he that guy that makes the Sedins less of a perimeter threat and more balanced in their attack?
Everybody likes their possession game, but it falls flat in the playoffs when Defenses collapse better.
I just have concern over his age and at what point does the decline start?
How many more runs does he have in him?
You might be right... He may have 3-4 more good years left. I suspect it would be pricey.
I just don't see Vancouver paying. |

Dear sweet baby jesus could you please use your rugged, handsome good looks and persuasive charm to convince Kevin Bieksa to waive his NTC.

Are you sure you want KB to be the voice to develop our young guns? I think he should be in media relations and be assigned to just provide sound bites after every game. Instead of Media interviewing Hank they speak to KB instead.
It will be epic. Now if only we get Torts back somehow to do the interviews for WD. |

I just don't see him leaving. The team may be better served to find him a role.

You guys want trades and free agent signings? How about a D corps that looks like this:
Hamhuis / Bieksa
Edler /Erhoff
Garrison /Ohlund
