Any interest in Justin Williams? - Gullzy
He's basically LA's Burrows. I think we should pass, he isn't going to get better than he already is |

Huge playoff performer with three Stanley Cups. Signing him will make Hansen or Kassian expendable, allowing us to address our weaknesses. |

What we really need is a right handed faceoff man. Someone who can score 12-15 goals , 30 points and be good on the PK. Cole Cassells can be that guy in 2-4 years but we need someone to fill in until then. Sharks need a goalie and a dman. We need a solid 1B centerman. I wonder if they would take Miller and Tanev for Pavelski? Another 30 goal scorer could help us big time. - Itsjustarash
I guess we shouldn't have traded Kesler. |

I'd rather keep Hansen or Kassian. Hansen is a perfect 3rd liner and Kassian still has upside |

I find it odd that hes considered a huge playoff performer even though he has a lower PPG average than both Sedins, who are viewed as soft come playoff time... |

If I knew I could address a weakness on my team by signing a player from FA and trading whoever he replaces, I'd seriously consider that option. Especially if the player you're signing has a proven track record for playing when it matters.

He's played in 7 game 7's and won everyone. Also tied for most game 7 goals in NHL history. Brings intangibles like grit, experience, and leadership to the table. |

In the spirit of Bipolar Tuesdays…
What can I say that already hasn’t been said? Sam Bennett… eight(frank)ingteen. Can you imagine?
Never once, in my entire life, have I seen an 18 year old play hockey. It's abso(frank)inglutely amazing. In all honesty, much more attention needs to be given to this fact. 18.
When I watched this child skate around the canuck’s stout defence I thought ‘this is something phenomenal. How can this be happening?’ It can’t be the fact that canuck defence is old, slow, confused, and mismatched to today’s size and speed game. Can’t be. Something else is at play.
When you put it into perspective, Leonardo de Vinci’s best work didn’t happen until he was close to 50. Einstein was in his late 40’s when he developed many of his greatest theories. And Jesus was well into his 30’s when he did anything relevant.
Sam Bennett is one of humanity’s greatest figures? I’m not ready to go to the world where Jim Hughson’s living but I can’t deny, when I watched the games, something was being pressed into my consciousness. 18.
Did you know that the number 18 is considered to be a semiperfect number; meaning it’s equal to the sum of all or some of its proper divisors. Think about that for a second. This is a phenomenon that goes way beyond Sam Bennett. This is more about 18. Sam is just the vessel that carries 18.
The canucks don’t need better d-men or scoring forwards, goaltending, or coaching. We need more 18. Based on the number of times I’ve heard 18, it obviously has more significance to the outcome of the game than any other factor of hockey.
Is there an 18 in this year’s draft?

At what cost would he be signed and why does LA pass on signing him? This team will struggle to make the playoffs and I don't think Justin Williams helps us in that regard. |

They're right up against the cap with key RFA's needing raises. He won't fit into their cap structure.
3x3 is fine by me.
I think it's too early to tell if this team will struggle considering that the playoffs aren't even finished yet. There's still so much time between now and next season, and so many trades that still have to go down. |

Yeah but take away his game 7's and the points earned and he is a miserable .65 points per game while playing first line in the playoffs on serious contenders. I would rather not overpay for someone who is more name than substance |

He gets more than that as a UFA. We are also not in a position to give out that kind of money unless we're dumping lots of salary this summer |

In head office logic, 1 game in the playoffs = 4-5 games in the regular season (plus it's Game 7 so keep that in mind too) |
