What trouble are you referring too? He had an injury plagued season but put together a chunk of PPG excellent offensive play. He may be traded but that seems no more likely than that he comes back. 2nd lines aren't usually filled with goons. The 3rd/4th lines this year have been interchangeable and could very well be next year. That said, I'm with you on front loading things a bit more. And the crappy deck comment I'm not going to get into too deeply aside from saying that we're all doing the same thing. Inserting a few new players and removing a few old ones. I hate to break it to you, but subbing Bonino/Vey for Sutter is trading a 7 of clubs and a 5 of spades for a 7 of spades - bezz44
This is where I differ from all of you. I want nothing to do with this team anymore. I'm not replacing a Few i'm replacing the whole (frank)en team

I'm more concerned with the defence, anyone we draft won't help next year, a quality UFA won't help with the cap situation, no one it Utica will improve us to where we need to be. That leaves the trade market with not a lot of movable pieces with the NTC's. Trade picks? The price for a good top 4 D will probably start with your #1 pick, then we have nothing until the 4th as it currently stands. The backend is going to take some time to fix. No easy answer. - VanHockeyGuy
I doubt they will get a top 4 from anyone but I think Mcquaid could fill a decent role and hopefully Pedan or Corrado can make the jump. Don't really know how they will pan out till they get here and play a season but at this point in time, something needs to be done with this D core. |

Not really. It's what a lot of us want. The difference is that we are not JB, who along with TL has been emphatic that we won't do a full rebuild. so most of us try to make changes that we see as having a reasonable chance of actually happening |

LOL. I know I know. Know where you can watch UTICA play online. I'd like to see how the prospects are actually doing in game form. |

You criticize my lineup and then serve this turd?
The reason why I had the top 2 lines that way is to stack the offense. We are not a championship caliber team and we wont be for another 4-6 years. If we can take guys like Kassian/ Bonino and pad their stats to flip over for picks and prospects.
Same thing we should have done with Mathias this year. 20 goal scorer with size would have fetched at least the 2nd that we are missing this year. |

Well last season he add Vrbata, dorsett, sbisa, Clendening, PEdan, Baerstchi, Vey and Bonino. You just have to find the right partners. Right now if we got players that were younger and maybe not as statically good I would take them. |

We would be the new oilers. I like. Let's hope JB can make better picks then the MacT and company. |

Did you sleep through the last three season? What Trouble? Three coaches have made him regular scratches on a regular basis.
If you think Sutter is just average fine , I would take him over Binino any day of the week, seems like others on here would too.
Point taken your not a Sutter fan, I am. |

You said this season. They didn't trade Kassian at the deadline. How does that translate to "he's gone"?
And it's not just that. You pointed the finger at him for bringing in a couple of different players but keeping the roster the same after that. You want to bring in a new 3C, great... What else you got? That's the same crappy deck, possibly even worse. |

I'll take Sutter over Bonino. I think he proved his worth this season.
Bonino and Higgins for Sutter. |

Yes he added quite a few but he only removed a couple. So we'll have to see what he does but I suspect it will be a couple out once more |

Fixing the D and adding size will! - VanHockeyGuy
If we're trading Bonino+Vey I want it to go to this issue. We could have the best 3rd and 4th line in the league, but our D is still going to suck and so will our 2nd line. It's like having a car that doesn't run but has really nice tires. You'll be ready to go once you get an engine! |

IMO they shouldn't be worried about the second round at this point in the franchise's history, they should be concerned with drafting high at least twice. As well as stockpiling 2nd and 3rd round picks in the next two drafts.
We've got some good young players they've drafted, but please for the love of God take a step back and set yourself up for the future!!! |

I get the Sutter suggestion, I also buy into it. Adding that pedigree is what this team needs. I'm with Vantel on that. And yes the D is going to suck again next year, at least when it counts. |

I think a move like that should be way down on the priority list. I'm not sold that Sutter is a better option than Bonino or even Matthias but even if I wholeheartedly thought so I would much rather move Bonino and Vey for an area of weakness if they're being moved. Whether it be picks/prospects, defense, or in a package for a top 6 forward. I would much rather trade them for say Louie Erikson than Brandon Sutter |

If I had to use this current roster and prospects this would be my line up
Sedin Sedin Burrows
Virtanen Horvat Vrbata
Kennis MCCann Hansen
Kassian Bonino Dorsett
That's if I had to keep that roster
I would prefer to trade players like Edler or Hamhuis , Bieksa for sure, Higgins , Bonino , and yes Vrbata while his value is super high.
I would like to see Canucks trade for a top 6 skilled/tough player.
My UFA target would be Beleskey. There are many middle of the road teams that want a shake up . I would love a guy like burns on the back end and I would love LUcic on the top 6 . I am not saying that we can get them but I would be very very happy.
I would trade a Kassian Vrbata for LUcic. I would trade Bonino Vey for Sutter. That's just me.
Sedin Sedin Burrows
LUcic Horvat Virtanen
Beleskey Sutter Hansen
Downie MCCann Dorsett
That would be my ideal forwards
Burns Tanev
Hamhuis as the top 3 D |

Second round is the least of our worries. I don't think we make the playoffs next year. Do you really think we are better then Dallas/Kings/ Cal with a 19 year old Sam Bennett? IO think we will be the bubble team on the outside looking in at TDL. |
