In what way is that different than Bonino going to 3 and Bo going to 2?
It's the exact same situation, only we end up with a more expensive player and minus a young player we could've traded for a pick or prospect if we didn't want him. - bezz44
I get it, you don't think Sutter is an upgrade. I think he is a lot better than Bonino.
Your center plays the perimeter , my choice plays in front of the net. Your guys gets a few more assists playing with Vrbata , my guy gets more goals playing with third liners. My guy wins a lot more face offs your guy sucks |

It's interesting, I just noted that Sutter is actually a year younger than Bonino. Take with that what you will (and 3.3 million, although not exactly chump change, is probably a good ball park for a player of his ilk)
Perhaps move Bonino to wing? hasn't he played there before? I think he did regress a little this year but hopefully that was just getting used to new systems/coaching/players etc. |

I'm not even contesting that it's possible he's an upgrade. I just don't understand why the position needs upgrading? Why waste an asset on what you believe to be a better 3C? If you legitimately think that Sutter for Bonino and Vey makes us a significantly better team then I have nothing further to say. If you are just making suggestions for suggestions' sake then that's different. I still don't think it's a smart trade regardless and if it happened I would be very irritated |

I'm actually curious what that alleged Pittsburgh trade package/proposal was (I think the key piece was Sutter, was it not? but I'm wondering who the other player(s) and/or draft picks etc were - anyone recall?) |

1st, Sutter, 3rd I think? Gillis wanted Pouliot but I think the Pens were hesitant to even add Despres

Understood but myself and a lot more people on here and in Vancouver will be absolutely pissed if we see the same lineup next year |

Well feck me, that's a first.
I've gone through five pages and not one mention of the Leafs.
Let's talk Leafs, or even the city of Toronto. This place is wierd at the mo. |

Thanks for all the good wishes!
I think it went OK. Pretty short.
I believe the segment will air on the 6:00 CBC newscast that's running on CHEK and on this livestream:
http://www.cbc.ca/player/...iveStreams/ID/2639088027/
Not sure when it'll be on our main CBC channel. Maybe after the Det/TB game? |

Awesome, looking forward to seeing it (was diligently watching the Tampa Bay game and intermissions to see if you were on but perhaps it'll be after the game? let us know if you have a link in case we miss it! again, congratulations - please kindly remember us little people now that you're in the big time! |

Sure, I will be too. But I don't want more of the same, and from what I've read from Pens fans Sutter is more of what we already have: defensively responsible 3rd liner that shows flashes of skill/physicality but doesn't play like that most of the time. If we're going to trade players I want picks/prospects or one of our gaping holes addressed |

If they can pry him out of Boston on the cheap then I wouldn't mind them making a move for Ericcsson. He doesn't make us younger, and he's had trouble staying healthy, but he's an underrated two way player with good hands and another option to play with the Sedins. |

Cheap being the key-word I would be fine with this, though if Vrbata can't repeat his success this season on the 2nd line it will be a wasted acquisition |

Well, it didn't run with the Canucks story in that newscast. Maybe after the game when they have a bit more time? Who knows.
This TB/Det game is getting interesting now, though...

I'm sure Boston will be active this summer and also looking to 're-tool' especially given their rather poor year and of course missing the play-offs, so they could be a good trade partner (maybe they could even throw in Tim Thomas? ) |

There's not a lot of players that they could acquire where this wouldn't be the case. |

All right Carol, that's it, do you want us to make a few phone calls? Oh, and let's get you going with a high-profile agent. You're now a celebrity and you've got to start acting like one (no blue M&M's for you, young lady! and as for the rest, they are to be hand de-shelled by cabana boys whilst you are fanned with one of those huge-ass palm leaves)
Ok, cheekiness aside, please keep us apprised if you have any further information when it will air! |

Boston, Edmonton, San Jose, St. Louis, all teams that might be looking to shake things up. |

Yes, they'll definitely be a number of teams looking to either re-invent themselves or outright overhaul their rosters. Those teams you mentioned as well as Pitt and Philly as Vantel noted, could make for some interesting trade possibilities. Sometimes even one or two players can make a huge difference and hopefully that will be the case with the Canucks (that said, not sure if in our case only one or two moves will help that much but if we can at least add that elusive secondary scoring - and perhaps a tough/stay at home defenseman (yes, I know, they grow on trees), that would be a very productive summer. |

It just ran. Did anybody see it?
They used the whole segment during this extended 7:00 newscast on our regular Channel 3.
I recorded it on the PVR, for whatever that's worth. But y'all know what I had to say anyway - you listen to me every day! |

I obviously think more of the bigger grittier Sutter than you guys do. I didn't see Bonino battling in front of the net too many games this year, but in the handful of games I watched the Pens I did notice Sutter doing that - VANTEL
I have to agree with you here as well. I would take Sutter over Bonino. Watched him a fair amount in Carolina and Pitt. Solid in both ends. |
