I escaped the cold that weekend. I was in VA. By the time I got home, the snow we got on Easter had melted.

Did you read the TSN article that someone posted a page or 2 back? Cullen thinks that they should make a move for Lehner. I'm not sure how I feel about that. He hasn't found a whole lot of success at the NHL level.

I think he absolutely kicks tires on Lehner. Might be a case of "just what the doctor ordered" for Lehner, if a trade happened. I think he might be had on the cheap-ish side, too. 3rd rounder? Perhaps a 2nd.

I like Jones from LA, too. One of my best friends is a huge Kings fan (wife is from southern California), and said that whenever Jones has come in, he's almost always shut the door.

Yeah. The thing with Jones is that he's never really had to do #1 duty. Quick has been healthy for the most part and didn't miss any long stretches that I can remember since Jones has been his backup. (I could be wrong though) Lehner was given an opportunity this year and didn't really look too hot and then got hurt himself.

We don't know that Babcock is going to come here, first of all.

Second of all, just because Babcock is probably leaving Detroit, doesn't mean the GM is going to trade a player to the team he ends up signing with. As a matter of fact, I'd think they're less likely to do that just to spite him.

It's been said that Murray had something in the works, but that it wouldn't be fully pursued until the offseason (around the draft). Kind of all adds up to me. Especially when you consider he has a history with him and he's the prototypical size goaltender Murray likes.

I guess it can't really hurt to kick the tires. His GAA the last 2 years has not been too hot, but his sv% hasn't been too bad. If Irbe is still here next year it could be interesting to see what he can do with whoever gets brought in for with Chad Johnson.
