Canucks have some injuries so they will need to battle through that. Hopefully they dominate like last game.
But the more important issue is people are being harassed on the red mile. Calgary should be embarrassed. Have some respect for your city.

I didn't know he had problems with alcoholism. That's a cool story. Of all the pests that have given the Canucks problems over the years he is probably the first I respect

I agree. He's the type of player the Canucks sorely need. I miss Raffi

Puts up more points than Burrows, is 28, Shoot-Out specialist, fairly strong on the puck, tougher than the vast majority of our lineup. For a 2C he's a decent option and I don't think you'd have to give up the moon for him.

Let's put it this way, if we had Oshie as our 2C instead of Bonino I'd feel better about our chances tonight.

Yah, I'm a big fan, he's basically a fairly complete player with a tough edge. What do you think we could realistically offer for him?

Lots of people mention Canucks first round exits but seldom do people talk about Penguins. When is the last time they won a playoff?
- VANTEL

I've stated pretty flatly over the past few years that I don't see that core ever winning another cup. That said, they did win a playoff series last year and made the conference finals the year before that.

I heard about it on Sportsnet the other day. This is from Wiki.

"n addition to his legal and professional struggles, Ferland also struggled with alcoholism. He ultimately turned to Flames' head coach Bob Hartley and teammate Brian McGrattan – who himself overcame a drinking problem – for help. Ferland was also supported by his longtime girlfriend Kayleigh and the Flames' minor league coach Mike Thompson, and celebrated one year of sobriety on March 27, 2015, two days before scoring his first NHL goal.[14][17] Upon Ferland's one-year milestone, Hartley expressed his pride and support of Ferland for opening up and seeking treatment after he had noticed the player was struggling"

I appreciate his effort. Coming from a family that has suffered on both sides from alcoholism, it really hit home with me.

Happy for the kid.

Lately, when they lose they lose hard. There was the sweep against Boston a couple of years ago where they got like 2 goals the entire series, and then I believe against the Rangers last year they blew a 3-1 series lead.

Sadly, we can relate.

Didn't they get their asses kicked by Flyers too in a high scoring no defence series?

Oh yeah. That series was amazing. Neither goalie could make a save. I thought that the Penguins pulled that one out, but I could be wrong.

McGrattan is often talked about in a positive manner, until you hear Andrew Alberts talk about him.

Depends what STL feel they are lacking. I'm guessing they're in a win now mindset so draft picks or prospects probably won't be too interesting to them. They struggle with scoring just like us and need some creativity on both the wings and center. Schneider would have been of interest to them IMO but we really don't have anything currently to upgrade them with over Jake Allen and Elliott.

Unless they go for some package containing 2 of Hansen, Bieksa, Bonino, or Higgins I honestly don't know what else we offer up.

I think it's the "Cup Favorite" tag that has branded them so many times over the years that gives that appearance. No one can consider them a contender anymore though.

That can't be true.

If it is, that team man. I don't understand anything their management does.

Dang, I just had my finger on the flag button ready to press away (it's fun to report people! ), especially all you no good bastids! (and in particular, someone I know won't share their and their Mrs' culinary expertise - rhymes with Carhood)

Yep, good on him. Pretty crazy to think that he already suffered from alcoholism at such a young age. I have friends who are borderline but I don't think I actually know anybody my own ago who is a legitimate alcoholic.

I could see perhaps Hansen and Bonino (they do need the offense) but I don't think that would get it done. Oshie is a fan favourite and he's a damn good hockey player and I think any sort of talks begin with Virtanen and/or McCann
