One would hope career AHLer Jensen could make a move. The second coming of Patrick White.
 - VanHockeyGuy
I liked his game when he came up last year, a bigger younger version of Higgins is how I see him? Ten years younger to be exact. |

Up 3-0 and again 4/3 in this game and they lose to a team playing without their best player. This team deserved to be bounced in round one.
The optimists can be as positive as they want but the Canucjs are officially in no-man's land. They have an old, expensive core that is decent enough to keep the team in the playoff hunt but not even close to being contenders again. And lack prospect depth. We're going to be in for a rough ride, I say speed up the process with a legit rebuild. Benning has some serious convincing to do with all of these NTC's though. |

My dream team for next season has both youth and speed.
Armchair GM powers activate.
Sedin Sedin Vrbata
Tlusty Horvat Kassian
Baerstchi Bonino Hansen
Jensen Gaunce Grenier
Edler Tanev
Hamhuis Green
Sbisa Corrado
Lack
Miller
It's time to usher in the 2011 draft class, and let them work on their NHL games. - Gullzy
This team would get destroyed ( which is not a bad idea).
You are picking up two soft players on the UFA at a very high price. The only two UFAs I have any interest in are Beleskey and Petry. The rest can just retire. A more realistic approach to start the season is promote 2 to 3 rookies only. That would be Sven maybe Corrado or Clendenning and maybe one more.
This team needs some serious movement this year , and the only three safe players should be Bo , and the twins. Everyone else should be fair game to be moved |

I've watched 10+ Comets games and been following the daily recaps of Utica fans at HF. He's taken a huge step back in the AHL this year and is now a long shot to become a legit NHL player.
He's just way too inconsistent and disappears for 10+ games where he's useless since he doesn't provide much outside of scoring.
Baertschi, Shinkaruk, Grenier, and even Gaunce are probably ahead of him in the organization's prospect depth chart now. |

I'm inclined to think the older players like Bieksa can see the writing on the wall, it's over for them, they've got nothing left here….it's time for younger players.
Benning met with all of them and they wanted a chance to prove themselves, they did that with a 101 point season….and a first round exit. Time to bring in some youth. |

So exactly like Higgins, who disappears for multiple game stretches. That's always been the knock on Jensen since he was drafted, very talented but really inconsistent.
He'll find a role somewhere, he's talented enough. If Steve Bernier can play 500+ games so can Nick Jensen. |

Fully agree. They got their shot and no longer can blame the coach for their failures since this is the third coach this core has had(although I'd argue WD got-outcoached in this series more than AV ever did).
They lost to arguably the team they had the best chance at beating in the Western playoffs so that says a lot. |

The leafs have picked top 5 only twice in the past 10 years. And both were the 5th overall picks. They are finally doing it right by doing a good rebuild. Unlike the Canucks who think they can suck for a year then be good for the next 10...the Cancucks are in for a lengthy rebuild if they want to be good again.
As for the Oilers...all their top 5 picks are under 21...so give them some time. Plus they just got Mcdavid so they should be more then fine for the next 10 years. - Santo_44
Not meaning to be snide but there is just something so dirty about getting advice from a lLeaf fan about how to do a proper rebuild.
Maybe you should have pointed that out to the Leafs 8 years ago |

Its been the character guys that have made the difference, something the Oilers have yet to figure out... You have a good one in Bo and honestly the Sedin's still cause fits. Its figuring out the intangibles. Wideman amd Russell were lights out for us and even Engellend stepped up when Gio went down. Ferland was up and down all year but found his niche. Hartley said its the best group of athletes he's ever worked with and the best group of people. The dressing room is tight...
Bo is a f'n stud and you guys have a few good pieces. You are where the Flames were when Iggy was Dealt. Prepare for some tough times but in the end it'll be worth if management does their job... Just don't Oiler it... - geta02it

Nick Jensen
2013-14 – 54GP – 21 PTS
2014-15 – 59GP – 28 PTS
Average AHL player, that's it.

They really play nothing alike to be honest and even have different strengths and weaknesses.
I wish he had half the worth ethic, cycling and defensive play Highins does. And this is coming from someone who wants Higgins gone.
Higgins always gets played by coaches despite offensive skunks because he does the little things so well. Jensen is the opposite, he has no interest in it half if the time so he becomes almost a liability when he disappears offensively. |

Also the Canucks are a great regular season team. We only suck in the playoff's, the Leaf's however do not make the playoff's so they just stink it up for the regular season and inundate TSN with useless bull shyte how change is coming! - VanHockeyGuy
This is what the Fans have to realize. We are the Charlie Brown /Lucy kick the football scenario year after year |

At this point he'd need a mini miracle to become a Chris Higgins-like, solid 3rd line type of NHL'er.
The numbers don't always tell the story but these do. |

He looked average in Penticton last fall with the kid's, what does that tell you? Bad pick, simple as that. |

Don't really have any players to do that…you work with what you've got. Anaheim is a much heavier team and they've got a much deeper forward and defensive group. - LeftCoaster
I'm not saying the twins should change their game ...they were great pretty much all series ...but why can't Hansen, Higgins, bonino, Dorsett , Bo(can't say much bad about him really as he was great as well) etc throw a hit on a D man ...it just boggles my mind |

I never said they play alike, I said they remind me of one another with their contributions offensively. I see Jensen in the NHL as a 12 to 18 goal scorer, same as Higgins current game.
Agree with Higgins work ethic, time for him to go though…I've seen enough of his game to want him gone!! |

Benning needs to concentrate on fixing that abomination of a defence and try to get another top six center until you get it right. |
