I guess you don't play many video games. Bo Horvat just survived a boss battle. He levelled up. Meanwhile Morgan Rielly is stuck on the title screen with the leafs, trying to decide whether or not they want their character to have a beard
- bezz44

The funny things about the Leafs is that after missing the PO 9 of 10 years, TODAY ,they are no further ahead than us. In a few weeks that will change but today we are even.

They followed the template , play for this year. At least now they smartened up

Who knows if they will be better. All I know is that as of today, we are better than them as you said. Maybe they will miss the playoffs for 8 more years. For every example of something working, there is another to use as a cautionary tale. I think that success is found less in what kind of plan you use, but in the competency of it's fulfilllment

They will be clearing 15 mil in cap space for two underachievers, that alone will be a huge bonus for them

(frank)in calm down, horvat played well as did Hansen & Vrbata...the other forwards are third and fourth liners playing above their skill level because that's what we've got.

As mentioned, Benning has been on the job ten months, it's gonna take time to fix the last few Gillis years.

- LeftCoaster

Agreed. People are losing their minds right now.

No it won't change in a few weeks.

They still won't be ahead of us. We aren't even. They are behind.

Sedin Sedin Vrbata
???? Horvat Kassian
Burrows Bonino Hansen
Kenins ???? Dorset

Elder Tanev
Hamhuis ????
???? ????

Lack
????

A lot of holes to fill. Whoever isn't listed should be traded.

Jensen, Corrado, and Grenier should be afforded a real shot to make the team.

We're not going to win with Bieksa, Higgins, Miller, Sbisa cause they take up more capspace than they're worth.

On the bright side 1 year is done from millers contract.

and then I get pissed knowing we have 3 more years of Luca Sbisa.

Thats perfect.

35 years old when the contract expires.

Time catches up to everybody, and we shouldn't be paying him when that time comes.

Third line gone also. Edler Hamhuis gone also. I missed the game but just saw the highlights. Same problem with the defence can't clear front of the net. Tons of second and third chances. Same players, same problem since 2011.

Edler would be the guy that would bring in the greatest haul, but leave us with Hammer, Sbisa, and Stanton on the left side.

Honestly?

Daniel and Henrik + a prospect for Malkin + Cap Dump

I doubt it would happen, but Pittsburgh wants cups with Crosby; who knows?

Good morning Gents (and ladies),

(frank)ing beautiful day out there.

Them 3 goal leads in an elimination game are a killer.

I propose a few roster moves to get you over the hump.

Firstly, I'd trade Miller for Bjugstad, Barkov, Huberdeau and their 2015 1st.

No team needs 3 of the top 2 NHL goalies on their roster. It's madness. Spread the wealth.

You could also look at it as a wasted year. Forgive me Lord for saying this but Leafs will end up with Strome Marner or Hafinin , plus another first rounder, plus when they move Dion and Grimace they will get more pieces.

That excelerates the process.

We went one step forward this year two steps back.

IMO the PO performance didn't surpass the high draft pick .

- VANTEL

I'm intrigued. What does any of this have to do with the Leafs? You really shouldn't be comparing anything to the Leafs (if you want to be successful).

Vancouver has to do this their way and not worry about the big bad Leafs, living in their shadow, Darren Dreger, Dave Nonis, early starts when the Leafs are in town, Brian Burke, Dion Phaneuf or anything else remotely connected to the Leafs. Canucks have to solely concentrate on their own rebuild/retool/retweak/first build etc.

Tough to watch that last night, but full credit to Calgary for the comeback. Their top line showed up and dominated.

At least Bo got some NHL playoff experience. 4 points in 6 games is pretty solid for a guy who just turned 20. I'm hoping he's ready to take over the second line centre role next year and push Bonino down the lineup.

Our defence got exposed pretty badly in this series. Edler, Tanev, and Hamhuis are the only guys that I feel remotely good about going forward. Hopefully Benning can address the position in the offseason (somehow...)

I remember watching Wade Belak, RIP, do this. Wanting to win a spot playing next to Sundin. It was hilarious.

Belak was a beauty.

(They can't help it. Apparently TSN forces them to obsess over the Leafs.)

Too bad he shaved that glorious playoff beard.
